  1. Very cool Tony, great job.
  2. Lenox is another good brand for holesaws.
  3. Sounds like you are doing good. Knee surgery can take a long time to heal and be pain free.
  4. Very clever Jay, I like that.
  5. Thanks everybody.
  6. Roly I am going to try to remember to get pictures of the shop through the whole process.
  7. I have not been very active but have been thinking about everybody. The wife and I moved and I have been very busy. I still have three bathrooms to remodel and a deck to redo before we can put the old house on the market. The good news is I have a 12' by 24' building that will be my shop. I plan to insulate and plywood the inside so I can heat and cool it. I probably won't be around much until I get caught up but will try to stop in now and then. Hope everybody is doing good. Rusty
  8. Depends on what you are cutting. I use FD new 3/0 spiral on everything except 3/4 hardwood.
  9. I always torch the back and it works great. Never tried the front.
  10. I have a little vibration on mine on high. I don't cut above half but turned it up once to see how it was.
  11. I also use the new 3/0 spiral and don't have any problems clamping them in my DW 788.
  12. I use spray glue to attach the paper to the back of my fretwork then I add a couple of staples to make sure it stays there.

    Handy Tips

    Great tips thanks Travis.
  14. Vernon thanks for the information. I will order from Mike's web site when I'm ready then. Welcome to the Village and hope you stick around.
  15. Thanks. I checked the Wooden Teddy Bear and they can't be ordered there. I didn't know we could still order from Mike's site.
  16. The only problem is they don't sell the FD new 3/0 spiral that Mike did. The smallest they sell is the 2/0.
  17. Have a safe trip.
  18. Kevin I think you are the busiest scroller I know. Great work as always.
  19. That is all I have used so far. I buy it at Lowes or Home Depot for $27 a sheet. They cut it down to 1' by 4' strips so it will fit in my car. I have never had a problem yet. Locally they have it in Birch, Oak and Maple. Congrats on the great deal and I can't wait to see some pictures.
  20. Very nice and very thoughtful. Great job.
  21. I do mostly fretwork. About the only blade I use is the FD new 3/0 spiral. I have a few straight blades for cutting thick wood. I buy all of my blades from Mike's Workshop.
  22. Ok here are some pictures of the pattern for the box I am going to make.
  23. Good points Jim. I think I will go with the 3/8". Now I just need to figure out what type of wood.
  24. I looked at the pattern and it said 1/4". The top and sides are scrolled out. the top and bottom are 13" X 6" and overlap the sides a little. The sides are around 4" tall. I tried to take a picture of the pattern with my phone and it wouldn't upload very good. I will try to take a picture later, I am getting ready to go to work.
  25. OK all you box makers out there. I am going to make my first box and am getting ready to order some wood. What is the preferred thickness of wood for making boxes 1/4" or 3/8"?
