  2. Now that is cute! Grandkids watch those cartoons. Jim
  3. Very nice work! Great pattern and well done. sometimes turning with a straight blade with that fragile of cuts, you could break sections. Least that's what I do. Spirals take some getting use to, but, your not spinning on a spot either. Well done. Jim
  4. Great cutting! I like Harry but, my grandkids are into Sponge Bob and Patrick. So don't think I will be making one, but, maybe for me?? Well done! Jim
  5. nice work. I gotta get going too, need some for my wife to take to her VFW seminar so they can sell some for cancer funds. Jim
  6. Well done! What do you finish the aromatic cedar with or do you?? Jim B

  10. very nice paint job. well done jim
  11. For my granddaughters 2nd birthday I made her a sliding book shelf. Steve Good had a pattern a few years ago, I just drew it up with new dimensions and personalized it on Inkscape. I usually make them out of preferred pine and finish natural, but, I think they will want this one painted to match her room. Just waiting for mom to make the color choice. Nice thing about this type of shelf you can make them in different lengths to suit the deck or shelf it is going on. this one is 19 inches, and she had a lot of books. Jim
  12. great piece of wood. well done, they must have shipped it packaged very well to keep it together. jim
  13. Best thing I bought this year was a full face shield at Lowes, and it has deflected two pieces of debris so far. I hate to watch these TV shows with these young guys grinding and hammering stuff and not glasses. In 35 years a supervisor in manufacturing, I have taken at least 20 people to the clinic or hospital that could have lost their eyes. Many many others with dust or flex's in them. Only takes an instant and poof no vision All because it "bothers me to wear them". In seventh grade we got to watch our shop teacher, who was instructing us on each tool, run the palm of his hand over a planner as he hollered at us kids "to pay attention!". Man that still bothers me today 50 years later. Jim B
  14. Some can make a plaque in half an hour, some in two hours for the same item. Pricing doesn't always work out to TIME and materials, you have to be able to pay for your time, yes, but be reasonable with the final price. A item of Walnut versus birch plywood should be able to demand a higher price, but, some customers could care less. I did two shows last year, and had to lower my price some to sell as others were really low. Guess I have to watch out for some of these vendors. (I hate going to shows and seeing "bought" items being sold next to "hand made") Oh well, Jim B
  15. sure, why not, I have been in the chat room lots of times, and no one there. didn't know a number would appear if someone was in there. have to look for it. jim B
  16. Happy New Year! Jim B
  17. Received two great metal ornaments from Phillip Chesney, Thank you they are really great, pictures are not showing the date on them very well, quite a bit of reflection on them. Have a Merry Christmas!! Jim B
  18. How come I get a blue tint to the pictures??
  19. Got the kids ornaments done and think they came out pretty good. Designed them myself on Corel, couldn't get them to print out right on Inkscape. Doing something wrong I guess. Jim B
  20. Nice job, Feathers look delicate to me, I have 6 grandkids so what I make that they can get hold of, has to be able to handle a little pull every now and then. Jim B
  21. Okay thanks! I have installed Primo and it works and prints fine. So, If I leave it as a SVG it will not print the entire page correct? So if I try to make several patterns on one page, printing from Inkscape only the first pattern would print, and I would have to change to pdf to make it what I want. So either make a large pattern or for multiples (small patterns) print as a pdf. Okay will work on this, thanks for all the help. Jim B
  22. I couldn't figure out how to add files to my other request, so doing it again with some of the files. I can not get the full page to print. I get the first item made, then >>>>>. The trees and snow men were going to be compound practice pieces, and then I made some ornaments, and did more than one on a page, and would not print any except the first. SO seem you can't do multiples on the page? I was told to save as PDF, okay don't see that as an option when I go to save. These are SVG files, Inkscape doesn't show me in the online manual how to go to a pdf. Any help would be appreciated and if I can only do one at a time, please let me know. Jim try again.svg Snowmen.svg
  23. I have made a couple of Christmas compound cutting ornaments. I make the first side, duplicate and move over and change as required in my drawing. I link them together. Duplicate and make two on the same page, so I can print 2 at a time, save paper. BUT, only the first image will print, not the 2nd side to make it a compound, only the first original before I have duplicated. I have dumped Inkscape twice, reloaded, checked settings done everything I can think of. Anytime I do anything more than one it will not print other than the original. Is this what it is suppose to do? Or what am I doing wrong? When I copy and put on a NEW page, same results, only the first images. Jim B
  24. I'll do some, you be the judge if good enough. Jim B
  25. I have some small screws glued onto the end of some 1/4" and 3/8 dowels, use these to hold part, keeps fingers out of the way, then stick into a block of wood drilled to hold the dowels. Tiny parts could be held by pins, I drill with 1/16" drill to put a small hole in bottom. real thin pieces could be done with small alligator clips on one end or some bent pins. turn air way done too, about 7 or 8 lbs max if light material.
