  1. Awesome. turned out beautiful. He'll love it i'm sure. Russell
  2. Glad you had a good day Roly, long, but good. What were your big sellers? Russell
  3. Nice cutting and frame. I like it. I had never thought to use a quarter of my underwear painted black for a backer, but i like the way you're thinking... I like different. "I used a 1/4 undergarment painted black for a backer." Russell
  4. Very well done, it looks fairly small. What size is it? If it was a dearing pattern it would be over 20 inches, you did good. Needed those spiral blades on this one. Thanks for sharing this with us. Russell
  5. Very nice Tony, i like the eagle best, but both are great. How long did it take you to cut one out? Russell
  6. I like that, very nice. did you make the pattern for that? I'm not familiar with the layout of cribbage boards. Russell
  7. I have a program called Font Viewer. Its free. So i just download them to a folder i called Uninstalled Fonts. Open that program and go from there. But i just downloaded one to test how to do it the "normal way" and it was just a matter of double clicking on the font, it opens and at the top of the window says "Install" i click that, and it's installed. But i have Windows 8.1. I remember when i had some older operating systems i had to open Windows and go to the Fonts folder and drag and drop the fonts in there. But that was years ago. So I'm sure you'll probably be able to just double click the font and say "Install", Give it a try. Russell
  8. I remember the pattern well, yes. But this is nice, and you did a great job on cutting it. That heart would've been scary for me to cut, you did an excellent job on it. I wish them all the luck Russell
  9. There are thousands of free fonts out there. Each one has its use. Like Kevin says, search free fonts and then spend hours looking through them all. Download ones you like, or might use "someday" https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Free+Fonts Russell
  10. Maybe attach this type of thing to the front, screw it on from the inside, then cut the heart out as needed, attach the name to the "veneer" and screw it back on. Russell
  11. Howdy Cathal, welcome to the forum. Like others have said, learn the scrolling and then the wood burning later. Pick some nice easy patterns from the pattern library. There are plenty to choose from, but i'd pick an easier one to start, give yourself confidence. Again, welcome pardner. Russell
  12. Nice work, they'll be very happy with those. Nice idea as a little bring along gift to the party. Russell
  13. Sew fine! Offer to paint it, if they buy the paint, sew you'll have paint for the next project. Russell
  14. Hello and welcome from a fellow buckeye. You do some nice work. We love pictures. Nice gallery Russell
  15. I don't think this will cut them 3" long, but maybe you could design/fabricate something like this tool. An idea to maybe get you started. http://www.fine-tools.com/taperedtenoncutters.html Russell

  18. There's another ROLY in this world??!! Oh my..... Another well done bunch of cutting, I like the new design Russell
  19. I use a program called Font Viewer. A free program that views all installed fonts, or installs them, or you can view all uninstalled fonts. Then you keep all the uninstalled fonts in one folder and install as needed. With Font Viewer you have an option of "Install Temporarily" or just "Install Font", if you choose to install temporarily, the program uninstalls it when you close the program you are using. With this system you can view all of your fonts in a large comfortable size, see which ones you want to try on this project, temp install, finish, close. Next time you open that program, ( Inkscape, Photoshop, Thunderbird, whatever. ) the program you are using won't take so long to open, since it doesn't have to load hundreds and hundreds of fonts first. Makes everything run much smoother, imo. Might want to give that a try. I love it and use it constantly. Just make a folder called Uninstalled Fonts, download all fonts to that, View as needed. Russell
