  1. Don here. Like Barb and Pete I buy from Sawbird. He is in Canada but does ship to USA. Before the $ tanked and all the tariff stuff, I used to buy from Mike's Workshop for my FD blades and Denny at [email protected] for Pegas I usually buy in bulk as group buy our club so the price is better from Sawbird
  2. At our club meeting last night, we had lots of really FINE Woodworking items at show and tell. I introduced a new topic called FUN woodworking. I showed my Lady Bugs. Made from a cedar fence board. The holes are basswood cut out with tapered plug cutters. I also had more fence flowers that I will post the set later on.
  3. These brighten up an otherwise dull fence. The 3 flowers made from 1 cedar fence and the butterflies with about 2/3 of one board.
  4. Love them. I just wish our frig would hold magnets.
  5. P Part 3 of Steve's video shows that there are screw holes that will let you move it further. I only went all the way to end and it has been fine.
  6. Steve Good has good video on his impression on the EX-21. 3 part series and in part 2 and 2 he discusses the parallel arm and the motor adjustment. https://youtu.be/n5r3Jp8LiXA?si=zvs6YilgAaDG1N2Y Another video that discuss the set up is https://youtu.be/R1M6hwoFJ8M?si=BtYEaxEQA5AWJqRX I adjusted the motor over 10 years ago and check occasionally that the arm is parallel. Also, check that the motor bolds are tight.
  7. Great Score. It is the same model I have had for 15 years this fall. The only thing that I replaced was the blade clamps with the Pegas version. I only did it because it was on sale but it did make a little bit of difference. I am sure you can get many more cuts on with this machine. Enjoy,
  8. The link is not available. I think you can contact Al at https://www.etsy.com/shop/RealWoodCrafts I don't see that pattern there but you could always contact the owner (Al)
  9. This is my second entry to our clubs 2 x 4 challenge. The pattern is by Steve Good enlarged 160%. It is 15 inches high Not the most efficient use of the wood. I resawed on my table saw and made 3 panels 2 panels 1 x 15 and one 12 x 15. By the time you scroll there looks to be as much wood in scrap heap as finished piece. You also loose 10% jointing and with the resaw.
  10. He who has the most toys wins. Looks like you are winning. Happy scrolling and enjoy.
  11. If you go to Steve's site https://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/ and scroll down about have way there are links to order the file or the stick.
  12. My issue is when you down load the file you do not get the jpgs. You get it on the stick. Hopefully Kelly and her husband will issue a new version with 2025 and I will order a stick.
  13. Did the stick come with a program to search it or some sort of file? To search the download file there is only a huge PDF that is just 559 pages of images so not searchable, you just have to sit and scroll. Also, I have found that some of the files are not on. My wife's favourite gnome is https://www.stevedgood.com/iheartyou.pdf. Another that is not there but I have used is https://www.stevedgood.com/bballplayer.pdf I wrote to Steve about this a long time ago and he never got back to me.
  14. I made a donation to Steve's family as requested to keep the catalogue going but then I decided to also download the 2007 - 2024 file. It is really quite straight forward as I have a Paypal account. You pay and get a link to download. It is a little over 4Gb and didn't take long as I have high speed internet. You get a zip file but it is not compressed as it unzips at same size. There are 4,973 pattern files and 1 index file. The "index file" is a pdf that is 556 pages of pictures and name of the pdf. The names are images and not text so not searchable. I am trying to create something that is searchable. I currently have a spread sheet with the file name and a hyperlink to the PDF on my system. Just okay as the names are not always descriptive. Question; Has anyone got the patterns on the stick? Does it contain the jpg of the pattern? In the video Steve mentions that there is a matching jpg. If so I may wait to see if the 2025 pattens get added and order it that way.
  15. I only put moss in my mini birdhouses. Big birds bring their own.
  16. Our club runs a contest each year to make a project from one 2 x 4. You can use any wood but must start with 96 x 3 1/2 by 1 /2 but special category for SPF I made this wacky owl birdhouse using a single SPF 2 x 4.
  17. Really like the way the maple leaf was cut.
  18. Peteb I have a Ex-21 which I think is the same. I took apart and there was lots of dust on the plate holding the bellows. Blew everything off and it seemed to make a difference. I blew out the hose too. I couldn't get the bellows out easily so I just left alone. Seyco does sell bellows for $20 but the question is how to get here. King service centre may be able to get the part too.
  19. I have a good friend who is a big Montreal Canadians fan so I made a Gnome for him as he was turning 90. As a die hard Leaf's fan it was hard to paint those colours. He was person who taught me how to scroll and my mentor. I have attached a picture that he gave me a few years ago. I will always cherish it.
  20. Check https://woodcraftbyscott.com/ Under patterns
  21. The link to video is herehttps://youtu.be/QlmkWxqsaJA?si=ab0BvFk6vdLVDiOb There is a link there to the pattern
  22. https://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/ Scroll down a bit to Over 4,900 Digital Pattern Books. Many with multiple patterns.
  23. I searched on Amazon.ca and price is $13.72 Canadian.
  24. When I put on a backer I finish the top (stain or dip in 50/50 mix or shellac/alcohol). The back I typically paint black. I like the edges to be same a front so don't paint right to the edge. If staining the front I stain the edges on the back. I then glue front to back, I use Weldbond with good success. Dries clear and adheres well. I then spray with Ploy or lacquer
