    King Canada who distribute the Excelsior line in Canada which is the same as the EX sell one stand that fits both the EX-16 and EX-21. The only thing I did was put a tray in the bottom rail. Makes it sturdier. I also made on a slope.

    I saw a video on making the plaques for Christmas ornaments and I am sure you could use the same concept for the segmented bowls. I tried at the time and it takes a lot of practice.     An idea for additional items. I went to a very high end show in Toronto to see what the latest craze is in wood. I go every couple of years to get inspiration on what is hot. (Last year was charcuterie boards). One of the vendors there sold wood puzzles. One and two layer ones. Not cheap but excellently done. http://www.forwoodpuzzles.com/ One of the items he sold at his booth was little frig magnets. Does not show on his web site but they were silhouettes of animals etc. Selling for $5 cdn tax included and I think 4 for $15. The prices at this show are nuts but vendors are able to get them. The ladies were buying like hot cakes. He had lots of choices and mounted on a piece of metal and had small baskets to fill. I am sure this is was his lifeline to pay for the booth. (PS booths are over $2500 for 5x10 booth - 11 days) The prices at this show are not what you would get a craft festival for sure.

    I use Keda wood based dyes. https://www.kedadyeinc.com/ I have only used the red and it really seems to stay very bright. The instructions state that it should be sprayed with "UV protecting sealer". Since the things I have done aren't going outside I just spray with poly but since yours puzzles are sitting in the sun in your display you may want to use spay spar varnish. Feet on the enclosed are dyed.

    I really like both. I would think a price per name plus per letter. I do keychains and my daughter is a principal at a school which had a very multi national teaching staff. The longest was 9 and the normal was 7. Don

    That is well cut. Like the Oak. With the Yankees name on it won't get much here in Canada. (I am in Blue Jay's country LOL) It is on my bucket list to do this. I am not going to put on a team name but add a row of shaker pegs for hanging of ribbons. The kids all get ribbons with team sports. I currently do my own design and add the kids name. (Hockey, soccer, softball) I may do the same with Steve's pattern. Steve has a football and a hockey sign. I don't normally sell but I got $50 for my ribbon holders. FYI here is a sample

    The prototype is now done. Sue Mey pattern that I enlarged by 25% and added the name. The embellishments added by my wife. I have 18 more taped and ready to go for Christmas dinner place setting. There are 6 different patterns in set.

    Bought a roll today but it is $8.94 plus tax (CDN). I think it was the only roll they had at my store. Can't wait to try.

    Pine can be tough to cut but if you are take your time and use a sharp blade it is okay. I am starting my Christmas ornaments and I have cut the body in 3/4 inch pine. I used FD Ultra Reverse #3 for all the interior detail and not an issue so far. I used FD-UR for the exterior. What I like about the UR is that the surface does not need to be sanded. I used FD-UR #5 on exterior. I also cut a prototype in 1 inch and didn't have any issues. I like the pine as this will be decorated and painted by the boss. Only have 16 more to go and 34 of the feet.

    The font is Arial Black or heavy but it has been made into a stencil. I could not find as a stencil font so maybe Steve added his own bridges. The attached is the font at 64 points - close but need the bridges and work VY too close.

    I am just experimenting with food colour and we just put a few drops in some water. It seems you have to make fairly strong. Just dipped in left for a minute or so and then turned over and put on wire racks to dry. Did not wipe. Turned out what we expected. The red could have been brighter but the boss was happy. I have done pine quite recently and it turned out even brighter. The 2 yellow ones below are food colouring. The red is Keda dye. (I not sure it food save so I did not use as I think these may hit a mouth.

    In a previous post, I was able to get help from Russell AKA Birchbank and came up with the pattern for the head and then I matched to the SSW article and added my own letters. Thank you. I am quite happy. Cut in Baltic Birch, Finish is just food coloring.

    Alex Just love the bowl. I watched both videos and I am impressed. I thought about trying to replicate in Inkscape but don;t have the skills. Is there anyway you could post a higher res pattern. When I save the image it is just a thumbnail and can't seem to enlarge that the lines aren't real fuzzy. Thanks again.

    Welcome to the village. As Kevin says you could make your own quite easily. It is worth taking the University Courses here on Inkscape. I can't find that exact letter but check out Steve Goods site and see it you can modify one of his patterns.     Kevin looks great. Did a great job cutting. I have done that pattern a number of times and used 1/8 BB, The last time the threads all came off on 3 copy. Next time I will try 1/4. If you don't have a way of selling you might want to try and get a local fabric shop to display and then take orders.     Look great. Love the red bird. I love to do them as gifts. Each year my daughter who is a principal likes to give a gift to each of her teachers at Christmas and last year it was a birdhouse for each (50+) and she got lots of compliments. The only thing I like to do is fill the hole with moss that I get at the dollar store.

    For book marks I use hardwood slightly less 1/16" approx. 1.5" by 6". You can also use 1/32 Baltic Birch. I have made a ton of key chains and most of the kids end up on back packs and sports bags. If doing for a kid I usually put on a ball chain instead of a split ring. Sounds like a nice project.
