I gave up trying to communicated with the publisher about doing something about the broad sheet inset but they just were not interested so I just wait till they put out the CD. It seemed pretty easy to me to just issue a promo code in the book with your subscription number and you could go and download. they were supposedly "working on it" about 3 years ago.

I made this pattern for Les and I enjoy doing these. It depends on the how the names go together but it takes me about 1/4 of a football game or a couple of innings of baseball game. Actually, I love doing them so if any one requires one like this send me a PM or post in pattern requests and I will give it a try.

My go to blade is still FD. I have tried Pegas MGT and could not cut a square corner at all. I do a lot of key chains and so it was and issue. Went back to Fd-UR and not an problem. I think the MGT are just a little more aggressive. I have come to the conclusion that most blades are basically the same it is just what you get used to. I have friends who will only use Olsen hate FD and MGT. Practice with one blade and it will become your favorite BEST blade ever. Don PS: I buy FD blades by the gross and they cost me only $4 a doz CDN with shipping. Pegas from Canada cost nearly $7. Maybe my Scotch blood sways my opinion too.

Are you sealing first? I use a least 2 coats of seal coat. (ie Shellac) and make sure the colour is fairly smooth. It seems to float smooth. Spray hard and lots. Let sit overnight. Never had an issue.

My Grandson plays Rep baseball and had an amazing year because he had a great coach. I was asked to come up with a gift and I modified a Steve Good plaque and had all the players sign it and had a friend add a plaque.

The only thing I can think of is that you have to unzip and place in a folder. Use File Explorer to open folder and then right click on the ttf. If you just say extract and click on ttf you only get install. I did some experimenting with Bird of Paradise on another laptop and this seemed to be the issue. If tis doesn't work I have no idea.

Had this problem with other fonts too but I have found that download extract all files to a separate folder. exit open folder right click on the ttf install for all users. checked in inkscape and it is there. Cool decorative font I have found the secret is the install for all users. Thanks to a previous post for the hint.

I am from Canada and Baltic Birch cost 16.75 for 1/8 inch and 26.90 for 1/4 inch. (CDN$ plus 13%tax) My supplier will give you one cut for transportation. So I buy usually 2 sheets at a time and them stack it so I end up with 1/4 sheets. The grade I get is BB/BB which means - BB/BB: Single piece face and back. Both face and back veneers allow 3-6 small color-matched patches on average and some light mineral streaks. Tight pin knots may be present. Inner cores are solid single piece veneers. I can work around any plugs or blemishes for the work I do. B/BB is really expensive and harder to find.

This a long weekend here in Ontario. Being retired all weekends are the same anyways. Christmas is less than 5 months away and each year I cut an ornament or such for everyone at the table at Christmas. It is getting harder and harder each year to come up with something unique. A few years ago I did a sleigh, 2 years ago we did a dangle and last year a snowman. All personalized. So every body wants something with dimension, I like to have this decided early so I can get cut and the LOML can plan on decorating. Usually takes a trip to Joannes. Since I have I have purchased the last 2 years plans from Sue Mey, I wrote to here and the suggestion was elves. I have spent the weekend modifying her pattern to add personalization and added hands and feet like the dangle. Love the feet. Now ready to start cutting, 20 sets and 40 hands and feet. Jim has it right. It is a matter of just getting used to a type of blade. I am just the opposite. I love Flying Dutchman Ultra Reverse but had all sort of issues controlling Pegas MG blades. Instead of double sided tape. Use Velcro hanger strips that way if you want to change or move you damage wall. I have been using to hang signs and small Intarsia. So far nothing has fallen off.

I use Weldbond all the time and it does have a quick set up time. It is really great to use with the Grandkids as they have no patience to wait. Also, Carole Rathman use on all her bowls. I have been using lately to glue BB to High Gloss paint and it works fantastic. See picture. I transfer to the accordion squeeze bottle and a few drops are enough. My bet is that your glue was old. If you are close to the US border visit a Canadian Tire and they carry it 2 sizes.

We have 2 seasons with our Grandsons. Hockey and Baseball. We have 2 Grandsons playing rep baseball all over southern Ontario and they are doing quite well. The request came for a ribbon holder for baseball only as the hockey ones are full. He is my new design. The pattern on the left is a modified Steve Good Pattern. I think they will get a kick out of their numbers and team logo. In order to hold up I use key holes. I give them instructions and the wall plugs.

When I saw Steve post this morning it got my patriotic juices rolling so I had to cut with my own twist.

Really cool idea Scott, For hanging, I do Ribbon racks for various sports and I router 2 key holes in the back. I supply the screw and wall plugs plus instruction on how to mount straight on the wall. I have a jig for my router so I do a few boards up ahead of time so I am ready to go for any quick requests.

I was waiting for these for some time as I have 1 - 48 on CD. I have all of the 48-72 in paper but I just hate trying to print the pages especially the middle insert. Even to get the patterns in the book are hard to copy as they some times get distorted on the scanner.NOTE 1. For Canadians beware that DHL is the courier. They charge $20 brokerage fee on top of the taxes. Canada Post only charges $5 and from experience a package sent first class mail would rarely be pulled over and duty charged. DHL, UPS and FedEx are all expensive. If I would have thought that it would not be shipped via USPS, I would have shipped to US address. 2. The insert in the middle is there as a single page. (31 inches by 21) In the first 48 issues, patterns were made to fit on 8 1/2 by 11 and so it was easy to print. Now you have to be a little tech savvy to get around that issue. You can open that page in Acrobat Reader and print using the poster feature and that will print all patterns on 12 pages. Waist of paper when you only want 1 of the patterns. Painful if you want multiple copies of an Intarsia pattern. You can open in Gimp that page and select the pattern you want an play with. If it is larger than your paper size lots of work. You can open in Inkscape and the select the page. You can then select the pattern you want with a little work. I think the text is all in separate objects. A little tricky to get grouped. Copy to separate file and then size from there. If larger than paper size, I saved as PDF and then opened in Acrobat and used poster feature. Still a lot of work I really like having the patterns electronically. Too bad insert not the same as before Also, I only wish that the patterns would be made available with each issue
