    I usually stack cut if doing 1/8 but some times you must do as single sheet if something like a personalized ornament. Couple of things I have done is given the sheet a coat of sanding sealer. (shellac/alcohol 50/50) and lightly sand. I also try and use a dull blade. Some one here suggested using your blade first on a few cuts of hard maple.     I bought some for bookmarks from a local aircraft model store years ago but a member or our club bought 1/32 baltic birch from aircraftspruce recently. They have a store in Brantford Ontario plus a number of factories in the USA. All sorts of thicknesses. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/

    I subscribe to an web site called fontbundles.net. They have freebee Friday and this was one of the freebees but it also is on dafont. I am a font junkie and collect neat stuff. A lot of these are used with Cricut machines. I have designed a few signs for a friend and so I am always on the look out.

    I use a free program called Nexusfont. I have all my font classified as scrollable, script etc. If you want to give me the names I can give back as a PDF and let bride decide. (Groom doesn't get a vote) Don't forget you will have to add bridges and sometimes that really changes the look. If you are cutting out the letters and sticking them on your sign you don't have to worry about bridges.

    I looked in Steve's Catalogue and could not see so I made my own pattern. I want to make for my sister and she has a lab so it is close. Added pdf so you can size accordingly. dog.pdf

    Our club was asked to come up with a project that could be sent out to the Seniors in Oshawa. With the lock down in place, the seniors who would normally come to the center for activities were being sent an monthly goodie bag that also included an activity. We were asked to come up with the July project so we did a group effort. I did the scrolling of the flowers and leaves and the turners in the club did wooden pots. (This was an idea that I borrowed from Rolf from a number of years ago). The total was 160. Been a great project to get a number of our club members involved and hopefully some seniors a break in these troubling times. Would be a good project for Senior homes too,

    A couple of weeks ago Ron Johnson posted his Scrollsawn Jewelry Box. That inspired me to drag out the book that I have had for over 5 years and search for the pattern. This is a practice piece for making Christmas gifts for my Grand daughters with some more exotic wood. This was made with poplar and stained. With Ron's help I changed the procedure so there are no cuts that had to be glued back together. Made a few mistakes along the way but will know better next time. Fun project and thank you Ron for the inspiration.

    Hi Ron Thanks for the posts of all the pictures. I love this forum as it give me inspiration. I forgot that I even had this book and now I am going to make a couple for my Granddaughters. Question - On the face do you still do the straight cut and glue back together. I was wondering for the face if I could drill a starter hole. I can't see glue line on yours. Thanks Don

    Interesting. I would have thought with the size of a lot of the wide leashes that pegs would be more popular. I make Sports Ribbon Racks and only made one with hooks and then had to remake with pegs there wasn't enough room. It will be interesting if it changes.

    Thanks I almost ordered from Fox Chapel but the shipping charge was $20 US. So the cost would been over $50 cdn. I then thought I would check my library and I have it. Bought it at the open house a few years ago and never made anything from the book. Now I am going to get going. Thanks again. Don

    I have the 15 from Diana Thompson plus another 10 in Bird houses 2014 that I bought from her site when it was up and running. I just don't recognize the pattern above especially the first one. PS: Diana also had a group of standing mini birdhouses.

    Well done. I just love mini birdhouses. Can I ask where the pattern came from? Also, when I do them I stuff moss (from the dollar store ) in the hole.

    WOW - Really well done. Love the cutting and love the pattern. Not sure what background I like best they all look great. I too have a daughter who is a nurse so I may do for her and here colleagues. Thank you to your daughter and stay safe.

    I usually get my wife roses on Mother's Day but with the lock down still in place it was going to be a challenge this year. So I made a card and a Steve Good pattern. This is the inside of card and the flowers in African Mahogany. I hope all the Mothers out there have a great day.

    I just love this pattern from Steve as I used to make as the hostess gift till I ran out of friends. I also made with one extra layer and a thicker top and bottom and divided the interior to make a pencil holder. Used cheap pine and was a great gift.

    I have done a number of scroll projects that I put in the bragging section - Happy Easter, Bear Walk, and more Bear Walk. But different for me in this time of isolation, I dusted off the lathe and participated in some club projects. Wig Stands for Cancer Patients - have done lots of these in the past and have got 3 done for this drive. Have wood for 2 more. Also, I am going to donate 5 pens for Health Care Workers. Haven't done a pen in a couple years. These are slim lines with a RN in clips.

    I made this bear for my daughter who lives right in the same neighbourhood as us. She is a nurse and I thought this would be appropriate to put in their window, It is a free Intarsia pattern from Judy Gale Roberts https://intarsia.com/pages/download-free-intarsia-patterns I did it segmented style as I don't have any white wood and at the speed I do Intarsia I wanted to get done before the isolation period ends.

    Blade recommendations are usually what the person is used to. When I first started I bought the assortment pack from Mikes Workshop https://mikesworkshop.com/collections/blades/products/assortment-pack Since then I have been a die hard Ultra Reverse fan. I have tried others like the Pegas MGT but always come back to the UR.
