    With the isolation going on I have lots of time to do new things. 4 layer Happy Easter sign - design and the cutting by me, background painting by me the cute bunnies by my wife. If doing again I would make a couple of changes. Size 10 x 20

    I saw a post about Teddy Bear walks and all of a sudden in our neighbourhood I started to see bears in window. I decided I need a bear too and so I made one in wood. This is a Steve Good design for the a bearbox that I enlarged to an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet. Started yesterday morning and had ready for last night.

    Travis you might want to check out https://www.simplywoodencreations.com/ That is Russ Clarity, They get together a couple of times a week and is available on lots of different streams. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube I think the base is ZOOM The weekly show is Saturday at 8PM EST. Never a good time for me. But I do look at some on YouTube after the fact. You need to have a moderator to keep things on track.

    Since I have a lot of shop time do to the social isolation protocols and no real pressing projects, I have been experimenting in the shop. I did the pile of bears but wanted to little bears to be proud of the bigger bears. I cut the little bears first and then put the board through the planner pattern side down. Just a little different. Thanks to Iggy for the pattern.

    I had the same issue with the clear shelf liner on BB. I do a lot of ornaments and as you say I had a really tough time on intricate work. I did find that if I cover the bb a coat of shellac first it fixed some of the issues. Applying shellac to BB also helps when using blue painters tape with the pull up of fibers. I had a complete roll and I did end up using on a number of projects like the puzzle dogs and other wood projects. I never would use on close cut fretwork. My roll is gone and I will buy another in Walmart as it does come in handy at times.

    For some reason this font (Dollie script) puts little white marks when it joins the letters. That was the white marks I revered to. (Yellow Arrow) Ralph cut all the centers of the connected letters correctly. (blue arrow). These are really small depending on the size.

    Ralph you did a great job in cutting and I really like the background.. Your granddaughter should be happy. Don PS: the white spots were the little white spot in the script of the font not the middle of the letters. You nailed it.

    If it is only going to be indoors and painted you could use MDF. If the purse is heavy you might need 3/3 or 1/2. I would use wood spacers. I think the "F" is Garamond. If you only have a picture it might pixelate too much. You could take the F in the PDF and use the poster feature in Acrobat too expand. The F is 7.5 inches so 350% gives about 24 inches. f.pdf

    This has been discussed a few times here. When you download a font. Save to a folder on your computer. (I made a new folder called Fonts in my Scrool patterns font) Most fonts come in a zip file. Find downloaded font and click on it. You must extract to disk. It will create a new folder. Go to that folder and right click on font. Must install FOR ALL USERS. Open Inkscape and see if there. If not restart computer and try again. Not there cry a bit.

    I use FD UR nearly exclusively. Have cut 1/4 oak with #3 and #5 successfully. I have tried the other fads but always go back to what I know. Blades to a scroller is like balls to a golfer - mine go straighter, don't break, slice when I want them to, last longer and are cheaper. It is what you get used to.

    I added some shading to beaver. It was tough to get image.

    For those who get Steve Goods emails you know that he is having a contest for $100 from Bear Woods. This is my entry from the land of the beaver. I will probably get disqualified as I did not follow the rules exactly but this was fun to do.

    I add tape to the bottom stop the burning and have been using both #3 and #5 Flying Dutchman Ultra reverse on cherry.

    I used to teach Scrolling 101 at our club and one of the tips I gave the beginners was - once the pattern is removed no one know where the line was. Therefore, if you come off the line just ease it back on so it looks smooth. I try and stay on the line but sometimes at my age the line sometimes the lines moves. Not my fault. LOL

    That is what I do too. I use Acrobat Reader DC and the poster feature as I like the cut marks to glue the pages back together.

    Denny they look great. I love doing them . I was doing a demo once and cut the one side and then did the other in front of a bunch of kids and they were surprised to see what was inside. When I do them I put a little moss from the dollar store.

    Hi Gary The font I use for Intersecting Word Art is Times or New Times as the big letters and Scroll_scriptmt for the small. I have used other script fonts for the small including bird of paradise but find it easier not adding the bridges. BoP also requires some kerning. I have no idea where this comes from as I have been saving fonts for years and years. Make sure to save to disk. Then go to the folder you save the font in and right click and install for all users. This is the problem that some people have with bird of paradise. Scroll_scriptmt.ttf

    When I try and select a font from my window\fonts I get a message that I have to be the admin to access. Therefore, I go to Nexusfont and select font and then copy to a backup directory. Then in then STENCILFY program go to the directory and select font you want and then STENCILFY. Viola. Not sure it is the way I would do it. Here is the example I ran an example with bird of paradise. Here is the sample of before and answer.

    Were are you located? It makes it easier for recommendations on were to buy stuff. I have an EX-21 which is the same as the current the current King line available at Woodcraft. Sold in Canada as Excelsior. If you are in Canada or close to the border the price in Canada is the same or cheaper than the Woodcraft price the add on 30% discount on the exchange it is a great price. One Canadian dealer has the Excelsior 16inch -$699700Cdn, 21 -$999Cdn, 30 - $1269 Love my EX-21. Nearly 10 years old and is used a lot.
