  2. I had a porter cable and had the same problems i also made a new plate and it lasted 13 months and then every thing append i tor it apart and saw a piece om fettle in it saw so I thru it in the garbage and bought a Dewalt 788 The porter Cable should be priced at about $79

  6. What spreed was you unseeing to cut with try slowing the speed down to about 1/2 speed. IKE
  7. I only have a dw788 and I have to run it at a #5 level when I do fret work for it is too aggressive for me at high speed, IKE

I had a Craftsman just like it .you tihten the blade in the back and it has a spring that looks like zig zag , I bought it about the same time gave $200 for it expensive at the time. the spring broke in the late 90's so iI made one out of a close hanger and it held up till about 2013. it was a good saw. ike
  9. I used Photobucket until l they improved it and then it slowed down and was impossible to do any thing with it I hac to goto church and ask for forgiveness for my language after i used it.I haven't used it since.
  10. I don't have music in my shop. I was running a table saw with music and lost consternation and cut off my thumb, So no music. other advice is a foot pedal and an awl to enlarge the hole where you feed the blade thru. and for you older folks a magnifying light.

  13. I usually use a #5 blade, and very seldom need a wider line and then I double cut it maybee once or twice last year I needed a wider line. Or maybee I am not understanding what you mean by a wider line.
  14. I first started with a craftsman saw and it was in about 1975. then I stopped for a couple of years. bought a new craftman and been doing it ever scene I now have 2 dewaltt 788 saws.,

  18. It is 25* here today and has been too cold all of Jan. to scroll I am getting in the same shape as you are , and we are to have snow again today,and I am tired of it.

I have a wooden bar stool 28" high fits my saw fine it has padding only with a square padding I am not crazy about the padding I have learned how to set on it I bought it at a garage sale for $5. i have looked to replace it but $40 is too high . My stool has no arms or back. but it is what ever you prefer.

I have tried all kinds of lighting but none comes up to the magnifying light I bought at menards. the one I clipped to my table was in the way for large work.. it is mounted to my saw stand i had to add p piece of wood to get the mounting study. the magnifier helps this old man wee what he is doing. and it only cost $ 40. it sets all the way to the back of the stand. It has a 45" reach.and only took with modifying my stand 10 minutes to set up.

  23. I wish you could send some heat up here to me it's 9* f. too cold to cut or spray.
  24. It makes good model air plains but other than that I don't think so.
