I use Oak plywood I buy at Home Depot for $28 for a 4X8 sheet. That may be a little high but I have been using it for 2 years and have found only 1 void and i was able to fill it in, without it showing up. The regular cheaper plywood is too soft and has several voids in a 4X8 sheet. That makes the $28 seem cheaper. IKE

I use 1/4 oak plywood for pictures get it at H.D. the one here has a better selection than Lows. For other projects I use hard woods I get from the local saw mill, I have to let it to dry out for about 1 year. I have Ash, Walnut, Cherry , for a softer wood I use Popular which I buy for $2.00 a board foot. Actually the best wood is that you find The cost ia about right. IKE

Welcome to the village. glad to see another Buckeye here. I am from Goshen about 20 miles NE of Cincinnati. T things to remember 1 wax your table 2 let the bade do the cutting. by that I mead don.t rush the blade. IKE

I personally don't see any difference in my sawing with the table slanted, I do it because ;I move my saw allot and use my doily to do it

My shop is a 8X12 shed I have a drill press Table saw, Scroll Saw, router table ,Wood rack, d work bench, So When I use one tool I have to move that tool out into the middle then Move it back when I finish so I can store my lawn Mower. My Saw is on a 4 legged table I have the 2 back legs on a coaster platform , When I move it I lift up on the front of the table. and it rolls out I leave the saw on the wheeled platform . this is about the easiest method for me . i get no vibration from it. The back of the saw is about 4 inches higher than the front. IKE

all i have done is wax the table about once a week and I have no com-planes. I use a past turtle wax. IKE

If this is on oak alone and it doesn't do it on other woods the the same thickness I would try a slower speed . i have dw 788 and I run 3/4 oak at a 4 or 5 speed using a 3 5 blade IKE

That is a beautiful center piece. You are lucky that you could buy a piece to fit your job. Here I cant buy a small piece I have to buy it in 8 ft. lgth. IKE
