  3. Welcome Stephanie you come to the right place to learn the folks at the Village are the easiest bunch to get along with there is lots of patterns and ideas on the site and each morning someone puts the coffee on just to shoot the breeze about anything besides scrolling don't be afraid to ask questions as there are no stupid questions only stupid answers. My name is Hans and I live in Mexico

  8. I don't feel so strange after all Thanks Sully I will cut for 4 hours straight standing up as I feel sitting down I'm not as attentive as I am standing up,May I ad that I'm in very good shape for an old guy I walk pretty well everywhere I go or ride a bicycle so standing up doesn't bother me. I also feel I have better control of my foot pedal when I stand. My current project I've been putting in 4 hours each morning and 3 hours in the afternoon (1 hour siesta)

    Tea Time

It works like a dream Larry, the only problem I found was the chuck in the dremel is way bigger than the bits we use so I had to go back to town and get a different Chuck but all is honky dory now were gaining speed. Oh Larry its 22c or 72f I can work outside everyday.
  17. Nice Job Mike very pleasing to the eye
  18. Nice work I love the card box.
  19. Great looking signs Ken I made a lot of those a few years back when everybody had their name outside of their houses, not so much now, I found by using a little line of bright yellow paint on the left side of each letter stops the black letter of blending in with the rest of the wood color. Kind of like shading if you know what I mean. Great work though you have the knack for sign making no doubt.

    Tea Time

Please poor me a spot Forester thanks, well I invested in a dremel and router attachment yesterday so I can drill the rest of my project so after wasting the day away yesterday shopping I best get caught up today. Have a great day Forester and thanks for the tea. .../Hans
  21. hello everyone just a short note to give us all a conclusion to this problem I was in the city today and broke down bought a dremel with plunge router attachment my good lord what a dream so tomorrow I'll have to cut twice as much to catch up for lost time. thanks everyone for your input. After Scrolling for almost 25 years there is still time to learn a thing or two.
  22. Oh Spirithorse I've worked with the spiral blades, they have a purpose in Scroll sawing but I don't like them for cutting as they simply consume to much wood when one does real small frett work. I like them when you want to high-lite a line as to make it more visible and to clear away large amounts of wood. I have also used them for backwards cutting as you suggest but again I find them to consume to much wood, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Thanks for your suggestion, This was not for a project I'm working on right now but I'm thinking of doing oriental Privacy screens they are 60" x 30" .../Hans
  23. Thanks Ron I just bought this DeWalt so I'll have to make it pay before I can warrant another saw. I couldn't get one here until I finally found this company on ebay that would ship to Mexico, I paid 525 for the saw 50 freight 225 dollars duty comes out to just about 900 Canadian dollars that the price you pay I guess, I'm really putting it to a test with the china doll I'm almost half way
  24. Allthough very awkward I'm using my 3/8 drill and for the really tiny holes I'm using a finishing nail I gues all the things you learn as you get grown up Hey I've heard it said "go big or go home" Thanks for all the suggestions I'm certainly going to keep some in mind as I'm eye balling privacy screens Oriental style. 5 feet x 30" But I need to get a bigger saw to reach the middle my 20" ain't gonna cut it no pun intended .../Hans
  25. Thanks for the coffee Dan I'll pass on the breakfast though I have to watch the cholesterol Must get back to my China Doll and several other projects I have on the go. have a great day. .../Hans
