  1. Yup I rarely even stack cut anything I just like the original .
  2. Great job I'm sure she'll love it
  3. Your concern for Mikey is a valid one but I feel much like Kevin this bird needs a lot more space than a larger cage. I live in a part of the world where these birds are a regular siting flying over head and they are a beautiful sight to see. As much as I appreciate your effort to raise the funds for a larger cage I would much rather donate 50 bucks towards your $320 that you already have if you used the money to fly Mikey to me where I can release her back to the jungle where she belongs. Hope you'll consider my offer and do the right thing for Mikey's sake. .../Hans
  4. Ta ta for the tea Larry I must run it promises to be a nice day here in the tropics. Have a great day.
  5. Dick where most people fail to tackle a pattern like this is they see a complicated mess of lines, its true its intimidating until you break it down. I say look at the picture really look at it not the big picture but break it down to each cut, you'll see its just a whole bunch of little cuts. Patients and time are the only requirements you all ready have the skill.
  6. Hi Julie welcome to the village just a word of caution if there is anything that needs doing do it now before you unpack that new scroll saw, there just won't be much time for it after you unpack that baby. I've been scrolling since I was 8 started out with a coping saw then once I mastered that many years later I purchased my first electric saw and the rest is history. Were sure looking forward to seeing your first master pieces good luck.
  7. Rusty this pattern has been done for a week now I posted it on the bragging page so you can go and take a look. Thanks for looking.
  8. Thanks everyone for your kind words about my sick form of scrolling I love it the smaller the better I have a very large designer kindling Box as you can well imagine.
  9. So if you screw in your bottom set screw a bit more putting your blade of square but then do the same with the top set screw that should give your thumb screw a new rest point and thus new threads, just a thought.
  10. Welcome Perk to the village a friendly place to hang out, where people understand the addiction of scroll sawing and can freely discuss its results. I've been here just over a month and already feel welcome. People are friendly and willing to help at anytime you run into problems. Hope to see some of your works here soon.
  11. Great job I like the old pictures best the wood and black really set them off nicely thanks for sharing it with the group.
  12. HAHA your hooked now congratulations on a nice piece and a sell way to go.
  13. Congratulations Grandpa this is the best part of having children is watching the grandkids grow up, have fun with her.
  14. Thanks to all my friends here in the village Who came to my aid when my saw no longer was cutting straight lines, I'm happy to report that it is back to normal cutting as straight as an arrow and this was the problem
  15. Morning Sully and Larry thanks for the Java its a beautiful day out there I'm all fired up and ready to head out to the shop, have a great day.
  16. Berry I thought no one would ask I have an old book of doodle art or I should say Had a book but still have some patterns The other places you can find them is in adult coloring on the web I've pulled a few of there take a look at it if this sort of sick form of entertainment interest you. I'm always looking for a challenge I'm not a bunny or kitty cutter.
  17. Great work there is nothing wrong with plywood when you apply yourself It takes a bit more work as there are grains in different directions in each layer but with a bit of imagination and elbow grease you can make some wonderful pieces with plywood Great job keep it up and hope to see more soon
  18. Great job Danny ones you get started you'l find things everywhere that you can cut keep it up I love what I'm seeing
  19. Morning Sully I'd love a cup of your Coffee before I get back to the Shop we had a wicket down pour here last night the water was 1 foot above the street lapping at my door but its all gone now. Well best get at it. Thanks for the brew.
  20. So how long you been hanging around my shop as these things are a regular accurance in my shop. Yes I got you but thanks for trying to help anyhow. You know after staring at that pattern for a couple of hours you do get a bit giddy.
  21. Thanks Ron There is nothing wrong with the saw I was merely stating the fact that there were no straight lines in this pattern that's all but thanks for your help.
  22. Thanks Larry I was aware of that and as awkward as it is I do cut both ways its a good thing I'm ambidextrous.
  23. Thank Susan for me please Larry, Well its part of a much larger project I'm planning on maybe making another 2 the same size but a different pattern they will be the windows in a privacy screen the lower part of the screen will have a rectangular panel (scrolled also), I have a year to complete all of this so no panic I can take some time of it.
