  1. Very nice Luis I love the fact that pine is often over looked as it has a bad reputation Thinking of pine box. But you put it to a great use and it will last for another lifetime.
  2. Pattern by a very talented pattern maker Sam Marquez Be for warned every one of his patterns are miniatures it seems. This one is made out of 1/8" material and all press fit no glue in here overall length is 7" and the wheels are 1 1/2" diameter
  3. Looks great nice work very inventive to recycle wood into something so useful and beautiful thanks for sharing those with us.
  4. Morning Keefie thanks for the coffee got to run.
  5. Jean-Marc Both saws you have selected are of great quality no doubt, personally I cant speak of experience with either but following the great reviews from other members in the village. I have a 788 myself and know its quite capable of cutting those crosses you want to cut. As a matter of fact I'm quite confidant that it will cut anything its a matter of, can you? I often hear oh that's easy for you cause you have a great saw, all the while I was cutting stuff like I am now with an old delta shopmaster I nicknamed shaky. So besides the saw you'll need a ton of patients a good wood selection and I think good blades would be an option. I look forward to seeing this cross done please post a picture for us to see. Thanks and the best of luck it sounds like you have the bug my friend. .../Hans
  6. Welcome to the village Sam, as we get older I find it gets harder and harder to get any juices flowing except my creative once when it comes to scrolling hope it works for you also, as scrolling will turn into an addiction for you. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with that new saw. .../Hans

  14. Welcome to the village Robin good to see you come back to scroll land I think we'll all land in the same institution to treat our scroll addiction so we may as well be friends and get to know one another before they come to take us away. Wishing you all the best with your lost touch I know it does come back I took a few years off myself and it came back in no time. .../Hans from Mexico
  15. When you look at this leash holder the question of why do all sled dogs want to be the lead dog? Simply because the few is better. Nice job Fay and a great gift for your sister I'm sure she'll love it.

  22. Morning Dan A coffee sounds great this morning but I'll skip the bagel its just not in my diet plan but I do love them especially with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Cleaning the shop well its a necessary evil if you ever want to find your shop again. But on a serious note, the one thing we really need to be aware of is the dust. One its very hazardous to our health and second very explosive I had a shop catch on fire many years ago lots of dust from sanding, scrolling etc when the fire broke out it caught the dust and the shop literally exploded the fire marshal said it reached over 1200 degrees inside. just something to be very aware of. Well have a great day everyone.
  23. Peter I cut a lot of Pine here its either pine or plywood that's all that's available and find with 3/4 pine or 20mm which ever you prefer the bigger the blade the best result I get, its like Kevin said the grain is just so coarse the blade tends to follow the grain so to compensate your more then likely pushing a bit harder and there for you'll and up with a tapered cut. I find if your curve your cutting is not to small I'd go with a #6 or 7 if your not cutting curves try a #9 for a perfect straight line. Hope that helps. .../Hans
