  2. Les, What a fun item. I think it is a little 'crazy', not your work but the wild pattern idea. I just might make one and see what reactions I get on it. Dick heppnerguy

  6. Great pattern. you are amazing at making and cutting anything that crosses your mind. I gave pattern making a try and then got away from it because I found I was struggling to try achieve what I was after. I think I will go back and try to master that craft as it sure opens up a lot of possibilities for those, like you. can do Dick heppnerguy
  7. I know I have not posted any work since maybe December. We have had continual company since New Years eve and i had no shop time until this week. I now have about a two week reprieve until the next visitor blesses our house. I have made a couple of items but got them in the mail without any photos. I did remember to take a photo to post of this piece. I had a request from my granddaughter for this one the very first part of January and finally was able to get to the shop and make it. It is a Sue Mey pattern and I used 1/4 BB Ply on both the main cutting and the backer board.Sorry for the poor photography. I cut it with #3 Pegas MG blades. I am also finishing one that I made as a pattern a few years ago and plan to post it soon, also Dick heppnerguy
  8. A good likeness and.as usual for you, well cut. I like this one a lot. Dick heppnerguy

  10. Welcome, Jos. We do not have many scrollers from the Netherlands here in the village, although there are people from many part of this planet Earth. So glad you are with us. There are lots of free patterns you can download and cut, should you choose to do so. Your first project is cut beautifully and with a lot of love and care, which is easy to see in it. Hope to see you and your future work here a lot Dick heppnerguy
  11. Glad you found us and decided to pick us as your scrolling site. Lots of friendly people that you will soon learn to like and enjoy. Everyone here shares information when asked and is as helpful as can be. Welcome to our family Dick heppnerguy
  12. I too own a couple of Excalibur saws and love them very much. I bought my first one from a friend here on The Village and spent another year lookng for a second one on Craigslist. I was really lucky and found one that only had about an hour of work time on it. I hope you receive a lot of good answers about the best saw for you. I think if I were going to purchase a new saw I would go for the Pegas but at this point I think it is a little our of my price range. Welcome to our scrolling family and be sure to log on often and become familiar with all the regulars, They are all friendly and helpful when they can be Dick heppnerguy
  13. Not sure how you are attaching your patterns. I have tried several ways to do that and found , for me, I like to use a spray glue. with a very light amount of spray on the back of only the pattern and wait about a minute to apply to my blue painter's taped surface, on my wood of choice. Make sure all surfaces are free of any saw dust and that is has been first sanded before you apply the blue painter's tape to the wood. You should no longer have the pattern come loose on you while sawing if you apply your pattern in this manner. ( You do not need to apply the spray glue to the tape or wood. That said, Welcome to The Village and remember to always have fun while scrolling Dick heppnerguy
  14. A nice variety of well crafted items you posted. I now know where you wife and children will be able to find you, right there by your scroll saw. 19. I am looking for a free download of the font untitled, Cooper Black. Does anyone know where I might find it. I have searched and found it for from $18 to $35, but not for a free download. Dick heppnerguy
  20. I have a lot of Sue Mey patterns and I have never seen one that any kind of bending involved. Although her patterns are exception, they are also straight forward, easy and nothing anyone should be able to cut. I think you probably could contact with that question and she would probably get back to you with an answer.. My bet would be 'NO", as far as a curve goes Dick heppnerguy
  21. one of the best majestic animals on Earth. Nice cutting and framing Dick heppnerguy
  22. Linda, welcome from Southern Arizona. Practice makes things a lot easier. Take your time and ask for help any time you think things seem almost impossible for you. We all love to help one another and keep your first pieces to compare your progress. Even if you feel 'you have it figured out', you will soon understand, you never stop learning at this hobby. Have fun.. that is the most important part and take a look at the videos in the university part of this site Dick heppnerguy
