  1. Thank you Marg for the compliment and yes the new great grandson is home and my daughter is flying to Virginia to help out the new mom. Dick heppnerguy
  2. Mine too. I am filling requests so I use the pattern I need to do so. Dick heppnerguy
  3. Not easy, We have been having a lot of company since we have been back home so that keeps me from my shop too. I am now waiting for a shipment of blades I need to continue my work out there. Should be here by the weekend Dick heppnerguy
  4. He is home from the hospital and appears to be doing fine. MY daughter is flying to Virginia to help the new mom out, tomorrow. Thanks for sharing your concern Dick heppnerguy
  5. It does take a little practice, but if you are only doing the small, possible 'break out' areas, it does not require a lot of practice. I recommend when you are using spirals that you don't run your saw too slow. They seem to be easiest to control if you saw speed is at the mid range or more. Remember nothing cuts until the operator apply pressure on the blade by moving the wood into the blade. You can do it and your 2/0 blades would also work just fine for what we are talking about Dick heppnerguy
  6. I don't even know what to say. I have run out of vocabulary to express how wonder your work is Dick heppnerguy
  7. You are truly an artist with wood. Even if I could dream up these great ideas that you manifest, I am not even close to having the skills you possess. I have never seen any boxes that have this uniqueness. They absolutely gorgeous and of course, made only as you can make them. Dick heppnerguy
  8. I used a #3 Pegas blade for this piece but if I find something that looks like may break as I try to cut it, I sometimes will cut across the protruding tips and come back later and use a 0/3 spiral blade to make the delicate cuts. Although a lot of scrollers do not like the spiral, you can easily make the cuts that the flat blade may break out, when used. Believe it or not, I find the spiral is really gentle in these places. So when something looks like a time to hold my breath and hope it will not break, I just reach for the spiral blade to do it's magic Dick heppnerguy
  9. I have been gone a lot lately but I also have had some time to make a few items in my shop. I got permission from Dan to copy his wonderful butterfly pattern and make that plaque for one of my greatgrandchildren. She told me butterflies are her favorite 'animals'. So she will be getting this plaque for her bedroom wall. The tiger is for her sister who told me that was her favorite animal. The owl will go to one of my daughters. Yes I cut one of these earlier and she liked it so this new cutting will be hers. Then the cowboy roper is for my grandson who is a professional cowboy and a roper so I thought he might enjoy this one for his wall. I also made a new born cross for a brand new great-grandson that who was born the middle of last month premature by 2 months and will should be home now from the hospital. I forgot to take a photo of it so I can't share that one with you. More coming up later Dick heppnerguy
  10. Good for you. I have been amazed at how quickly you are advancing in your scrolling. It is a wonderful hobby that allows one to make things for others, that before they started scrolling did not even know they could do such a thing. I am so pleased that you joined up here in The Village and continued to log on and display your work and make comments on others too. Isn't it nice how quickly one can feel the family unity here and how short a time it is that we also feel like we have known so many others that are members here, even though we have not met them personally? Dick heppnerguy
  11. We have not had cancer in our family as of yet, and certainly hope we do not, ever. I love what you are doing. Such a nice gestor. Dick heppnerguy
  12. Welcome from Arizona. Be sure and check out the pattern library and the tutorial forums here in The Village. There is a lot of good information in them and you will find that the people here are very helpful and happy to share their knowledge and skills with one another. Just ask and you receive. Dick heppnerguy
  13. You have a way with making what could be a regular piece and then turning it into an over the top one with all the animals. Fun to see what you are going to come up with next Dick heppnerguy
  14. Some times the easy projects are what I like best because they keep the focus where is belongs instead of searching to try and see all that is going on Dick heppnerguy
  15. Again I have to repeat myself and say, " Very nicely done. All project look so nice". Thanks for posting them all. I sure enjoyed viewing them Dick heppnerguy
  16. Very well cut. You are putting out some really nice items. Keep up the good work Dick heppnerguy
  17. An excellent job on this project. I think it is a great bank project and will really be appreciated by the receiver of it Dick heppnerguy
  18. Good likeness. My wife and I were both Elvis fans. I like the pattern and the end results of this project. Your friend will love it. Can't buy this in any store, that is for sure Dick heppnerguy
  19. nice projects, Kevin. You continue to produce some extremely interesting pieces Dick heppnerguy
  20. Wow. I love the effort you put in this project and the framing is spectacular. My hat is off to you Dick heppnerguy
  21. Very nice and thoughtful piece. It can also work well for someone who looses a family member or friend, of course without the paw prints. Gifts like this mean so much to the receiver. Thank for making it and thanks for sharing it with all of us Dick heppnerguy
  22. What a wonderful thing for you to do. A fun raiser that will help others going through the same problem and for others that just care about the families and kids that are fighting this horrible decease. Way to go. You have become one of my heroes with this kind act. Dick heppnerguy
  23. you did a really nice job on this box. I am also making my wife one and I have been struggling with the joints. Sometimes things just seem to go that way. I am also trying a different finish and I do not like the one I am using on it. Win some lose some. Again, great job, it looks really nice Dick heppnerguy
  24. Now there is a really interesting concept I do not remember seeing in another pattern before. Quite interesting and well cut Dick heppnerguy
  25. what an interesting piece. It shows the agony very well and the angle of this crucifixion is not one you see very often and it more the way those who were present at the time would have seen it Dick heppnerguy
