  1. Yep, it is. I saw that right away when I saw the ad. That’s what made me look for the wedge when I went there.
  2. Nice booth. Hope the weather was as nice there this weekend as it was here. 28 degrees never felt so good
  3. This is the one I’m looking at
  4. Ray, this a saw on fb marketplace than the original that I had posted. It has only one picture. Kevin, it was pita getting a blade set up and running. I will use that term loosely as far as getting it up and running Would someone please send a closeup of the back adjustment and how it’s suppose to look? Millwab, thanks, I did see that and am still contemplating the Hegner, but I’d probably go with the package with the stand, light and quick change
  5. Lower blade clamps are square. Nope, no nylon washer. What about the lag time on the variable speed?
  6. So I finally get a response on FB about an RBI ultra 220. Woman’s husband died and she’s moving. I go check it out and the V piece to adjust the tension in back is missing. So that was a bummer, as I couldn’t really keep the tension tight. Is it normal to have the variable speed lag? Kevin had a comment earlier that there is a learning curve. Holy crap, is there ever! Trying to put a blade in the blade holder, and then putting the bottom blade holder around and behind the trunion was quite the challenge. Anyways, I told the woman’s son my concerns. He said, “fine, I’ll scrap it out”. Kind of ticked me off. Went upstairs and told the woman thanks but no thanks. That new Hegner just might be in the cards. I do have to laugh though, it’s a $1900 swing. A guy can buy one hell of a slab of walnut for that price. Big big smile
  7. What’s the difference between a RBI 220 and 226.
  8. Very, very nice
  9. Very nice, it looks live you beveled/radiused the cut ends to “soften” the ends. If so, I really like that idea
  10. Yeah, Ray, that’s what I was thinking. He actually wants 1400 for the Hegner. what’s weird is I inquired on 3 different saws on fb marketplace today. Not one response back. My thinking is, if I’m selling something, I’d wanna be available, especially on the weekend. Maybe it just me. I would really like to go see the one that I had posted earlier
  11. Thanks Kevin. I was pretty sure you’d respond about the rbi.
  12. What do ya all think about this one? Yes, it’s a RBI, but it looks very clean, priced right, and is nearby https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/760214715464236/
  13. Thank you all very much for your responses. That aren’t any Hegner on Craigslist, so I’m glad Octoolguy mentioned FB marketplace. I had my wife go on FB marketplace and there are a few Hefner’s listed. One of them is 10 miles away. 1999 model for $1100.00. Seems quite expensive to me. Grampa Jim had one for sale a few months ago, unfortunately, when I was ready to buy, he had already sold it As Scrapplile mentioned, they are on sale, and they ship in 24 hours! That amazes me. Funny thing is, I have the ok to go ahead and order a new one, but am having a hard time justifying the cost. But then again, I’ve never seen a hearse with a luggage rack. hmmm…. Decisions, decisions. Thanks again for all your opinions, very much appreciated!
  14. I’ve been scrolling for about 10 years and I may be in the market for a new saw. Im not asking which brand of saw I should get, at this time and moment I am interested in only the Hegner. I have the Excaliburs and Dewalt788. I am a bottom feeder. For the life of me I can’t get the hang of top feeding. Fretwork, compound cutting, and intarsia are mainly what I do. I’d like to get into in-lay That all being said, I do have 3 questions: II am asking the Hegner owners if they are worth the price? (Twice the price of the others) Does anyone have one for sale? Is there a retail store where a person can do a test drive? I live in Twin Cites in Minnesota, is there anyone that has a saw that I can come try? Thanks

    Beautiful!!!
  16. Very nice! Black ash certainly has interesting grain. And you might find that the beeswax butter may be your go to finish.
  17. Another outfit to check out is Woodcrafters Supply. They are located in Riceville Iowa. I’ve used them a few times. Not sure how they are on pricing, but I’ve been very happy with their service.
  18. Very nice!
  19. Had to do a double take Had to do a doubletake on this! Good one! Where did you get the pattern?
  20. Very cool!
  21. Thanks Barb! I’ll have to give it a try.
  22. Those are awesome! I’ve made quite a few of the different patterns. Would you please explain the process that you used with the clay?
  23. Very nice! I also have a chess set on my list of to do.
  24. Not to hi-Jack this thread, but, WOW! Those are some impressive pieces you folks have shown.
