  1. There is an Excalibur-16 available at the Woodcraft store in Richfield MN if anyone is interested. I can't remember what they are asking for it.
  2. Very interesting. I agree with Sycamore67.
  3. Neat clock Scrappile. Very funny Fab4,
  4. Very cool!
  5. I bought a Fein Turbo II vacuum. It is great for dust collection and very quiet. I have it hooked up under my EX21 and it does a great job. And it's very quiet. I used to have a shop vac hooked up to a cyclone. That worked very well also, but very noisy. Not to mention a bigger foot print. The Fein was a bit spendy, but well worth it. I highly suggest it.
  6. Good luck and good patience to you, Karl and Scrappile. Looking forward to seeing them
  7. Wow! That is beautiful.
  8. I just finished up cutting Steve Goodes mini grandfather clock. Make out of 1/4" alder and 1/4" walnut. Used the Pegas Modified Geomerty #2 blade. Worked like a charm. Aggressive? Yeah, just a bit,
  9. I think D and D is great to work with also. AND, you can call them and talk with them.
  10. Received my plans yesterday for the Ascent clock from wooden-gear-clocks.com. Very nice blueprints to work with. The instructions are very well written. I'm excited to get going. However, I have three or four projects that I am currently working on that I should finish.
  11. Good luck Scrappile and have fun. Today I ordered plans for a true wooden gear clock. Hopefully I get as good as service as you did. Keep us posted on the 'bots please.
  12. I've dealt with both Lesley's and D and D. D and D has far superior customer service. I had ordered 6 dozen blades from D and D. I called them, yes, called them with a concern about blades breaking. He asked me to send him the bad ones. On the same day I mailed him the bad blades, I received 6 dozen blades in the mail from them. WOW! Here's the kicker, D and D asked me to call the US rep for Pegas. Which I did. Yes! I talked to a person and told him the trouble. He asked me to send what was left of my purchase from D and D to him. Lo and behold, within a week I had 6 dozen blades in my mailbox. Now that is customer service!!! As for Lesley's, it's been a couple of months now and my back order is still not filled. Good luck trying to talk to anyone. With the service I got from D and D and Pegas, I won't look elsewhere.
  13. I'm a big fan of the modified geometry blades. You can get them much cheaper on-line. My FD blades are now dust collectors instead of dust makers.
  14. Nice!!!
  15. In response to Scrappiles question, "would this not be great fun to build???!" Two words come to mind, "hell yeah". (Hopefully I can say that without getting booted) Hmmm, now I'm in a quandary, a clock from ricks clock on scrollsaws.com or the robots on lisaboyer.com? Has the gauntlet been laid Scrappile? (Big, big smile)
  16. Thank you all for the nice comments! In answer to Rolf, I would love to try and build a real wooden gear working clock. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could find a plan or two?
  17. Steve Goode design. Walnut and maple. Two or three coats of Danish oil, topped wth a few coats of spray shellac. Rubbed down with 0000 steel wool. Lot of fun to make! (Still can't figure why it comes out sideways)

  19. Makes me want to fire up the turntable, get out my Pink Floyd albums, crank the volume, and do some scrolling. Nice work!
  20. Nice job Frank! Thanks for showing it
  21. Nice job Frank! Thanks for showing it
  22. That is who I have ordered from in the past. Great customer service. Just finished up making the man cave crescent wrench pattern from Steve Goode. Was using the modified geometry #5. It has become my go to blade. Smooth as the scotch that I just poured. (Big smile)
  23. I ordered the sample pack from them because it was a really good deal. It took a few emails to finally get them to ship them. It took forever. When it did come, the order wasn't complete. They said the #5's were on back order. This was over 6 weeks Still haven't seen the remainder of my order.
  24. Nice job. I saw that in this past issue and it looks like it would be a fun piece.
