  1. Very nice work. Hope you have a great trip. Do you take the scroll saw?
  2. Really nice! Now you need to make him a matching cooler....
  3. Nice ones. The little train engines are my favorite.
  4. I agree, congrats! Please give us a review when you have used it a while.
  5. Looks like this started in June 2015... Originator has not been here since then, made two posts and left us.
  6. Ron, that is beautiful. Your pictures always look so professional with the framing and matting. What tools does one need to do that matting? I have wanted to try that, but do not know where to begin. I have that pattern in my stash.

  8. Very nice cutt'n job!
  9. Well from what Jim Finn is saying they can have either or. Maybe depends on the model or age.
  10. Those are awesome, Kevin. What woods have you used there? I have done one successfully, tried a second and ahhh not so successful... I have most of his bowl patterns to try,,, someday.
  11. I just wipe it on, let it set about 5 seconds and pull the pattern off. Wipe the residue off with mineral spirits. Doesn't always happen this nicely but most the time... The ghost one is the pattern after cutting the picture and lifting it off with quick mineral spirits soak.
  12. Will if it is cast iron it does not get attracted to a magnet. At least mine doesn't. My Seyco is steel plate. Definantly likes magnets, I think my Ex was the same.
  13. I've tried them all and keep coming back to gluing the pattern directly to the wood. Just my preference.
  14. Dan, that is super.
  15. Magnetic sheet will not work on an aluminum table. I think the Hegner has cast aluminum. Can't get to mine right now to verify that. Could fasten an auxiliary table of 1/8" Masonite on top. I have one on mine. If I remember right it was for the same reason. The Aluminum cleaner from Advanced machinery may help I did not try it. The one for steel cleaner worked well on my table saw but required a lot of elbow grease to remove the spots on it. On the Aluminum cleaner, I would think you would have to keep applying it... at $14 a tube, I would use Johnson's wax.
  16. I use to follow his show, really enjoyed it. Crocodile Hunter, right?
  17. Drop down under "Resources" in the tab bar above, click on "Scroll Saw Reviews". If the Hegner you are looking at is a 22" make sure it has the quick tension release lever on the top arm toward the front of the arm. Some older ones did not and you had to turn the tension knob in the back to release and set the tension... That is a long reach and an expensive up grade. The older ones do not have a round insert where the blade goes through the table. It is a replacable insert which is nice. Not a show stopper, there are other ways to have zero clearance, but it is a better set up in my opinion.. Other than that, if it runs good, and everything works.... Hegners take a little getting use to, and parts, should you ever need one, are expensive. I don't think Hegners are for everybody. I love mine, would be my only saw if I could only have one, but not everyone will like them. Bottom feed only, a tool required to change blade.. downers to some...
  18. Looks great!
  19. Could it be a matter of expense? I mean would it take massive storage and is that expensive in the commercial world. I do not know how it all works. I have had a couple digital magazines and I did not like reading them that way so much, but I would like to have the patterns digital. I hate having to remove them from the magazine, not being able to resize them, having to either cut up the sheet of patterns or fold it all up to copy on my printer... It is all just real awkward. I have a pattern out of one of their magazines right now that is waiting for me to take it to a print shop to get a size/copy I can use. I do not want to have to destroy the other patterns on the sheet of paper. I live 20 miles from a print shop. So I will wait until I need to go that way for other things... or I will just move on to other patterns...
  20. I agree that blade may be a little too small for 7/16" thickness of plywood. Plus I find the Pagas blades a little smaller than the same sized FD blade, not sure about other brands. Might try around a Pegas #3 reverse skip for that thickness..that is what I use for around 1/2" stock, if I want to use Pegas...That is just me, doesn't make it right.
  21. I went through a stroke last November. I pretty well came out of it okay, but you can't rush the recovery or as you know you can go right back. I still take easier than I use to. Maybe that has nothing to do with the stroke, maybe it has more to do with getting old and lazy..... Take good care of your self, take it a little slower and listen to those you should be listening to... Hope you have a speedy recovery... I say I take it easier, but Monday I go in for surgery for hernia repair.... Third time in my for that type surgery....
  22. For sure that is a beauty! Great cutting in a choice piece of wood. I've looked at that pattern several times, saved to my files because I love the old ships. May cut it one day. Great Job!
  23. Nice find and interesting to learn about the builder.. I doubt I will ever know where my stuff really goes when I pass, unless some garbage collector decides to keep one.....and wants to know something about it.....
  24. Nice clean setup. I look forward to reading your review. I have my dust collection setup with my vac also. I do a lot of detail fret work and I've often wondered if it is good to have the vac (Fein) going on and off all the time as I change the blade from one hole to the next. Lately, when I am scrolling like that I switch the switch so the Fein stays on. I can still use the foot peddle when it is in that mode. I have no signs that it hurts the vac to go on and off a lot, so I don't know if it is a valid concern or not..... probably not. @kmmcrafts. just checked and it is listed on their site now... https://www.seyco.com/scroll-saws-etc/
  25. Every one of those blades has slightly different teeth from each other, so they are all "modified geometry" from something?
