  1. Yep, the rest of me, puts on a pattern and cuts out the black.. I think I am pretty good at that, but then I see something like this and I get depressed! She does real art.
  2. I agree with you 100%. True scroll saw artist. I can't even visualize that kind of scenes when I look at a piece of wood. I do not see a pattern either. She must draw it on the wood or it is totally free hand. Thanks for sharing. I now have a new idol!
  3. Bearwoods advertises they are going to have like 1000 Charles Dearing patterns available. That was a while age, but it still says that at their sight. Maybe if you contact them they could speed it up some. Here is one almost as good: https://oldcrowscrollwerks.weebly.com/store/p622/Gandalf_the_Gray.html
  4. Used it as my primary finish for pens for several years.
  5. The site is still working. At least it one can still order,,,, don't know if you get your product, that is want I am interested in learning.
  6. @Sharon Camille Craig, I'm wondering if you ever received your order from The Old Crow Scrollwerks site.
  7. Bet your wife is happy with that. Nice work.
  8. Nice projects. You call it a "diffuser" box, is it for potpourri?
  9. Super job. Just a great piece, wonderful cutting and I love the way you did the backer.
  10. Nice work.
  11. Great cuttings and I really like how you framed them. Nice work.
  12. Welcome to the village. You are an accomplished scroller. And now we have another coin scroller. Good thing! I love to see the coins. If you find the pattern for that Nativity, please let me know. I love the arches and I love nativity scenes. I have several of Volkner's patterns.
  13. Another great cutting. You be the master!
  14. Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you join us. @hotshot, Randy, is our local coin cutting expert, maybe he will chime in and give some advice. You can check out his album here: http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/profile/1770-hotshot/?tab=node_gallery_gallery
  15. Welcome to the village. Good to have you. Be sure to look around and check the info in the "Resources" section. You can probably find a manual to down load for your saw here: https://www.advmachinery.com/pages/hegner-home This is also where you can get parts and lots of help if needed. Do not buy blades at your local Home Depot, Lowes, etc. unless they sell Olsen blades, best to order you blades and get one or a couple of the brands mentioned by bobscroll. A sample pack with different sizes and types of blades in it is a good start. Figuring out which blades are best for what and best for you is probably the hardest and confusing part of learning scrolling. But it comes to you with a little research and practice. If your saw runs smoothly you got a great deal.
  16. Very well done Denny. I like to see these in hardwoods Looks great.
  17. Sorry never mind
  18. That is a great job of a great pattern. I'm not really into the movie actor thing, but I did do a couple of the Lonesome Dove ones. I may have to do this one if the pattern is still available. He was such an icon. When my nephew showed some one he worked with the picture I did of Gus McCrea and Caption Call, she asked if I could do a John Wayne one. I said sure, for $30. I thought that was more than fair, but I never heard another word about it. Guess she thought they were free.
  19. Ya, I like the little bigger ones as apposed to my little baby. Nice job. I did not attach mine either, for the same reason. Mines trunk is just touching mom's tail.
  20. @hotshot, you got any pictures of that move!!
  21. Beautiful items. Like I said, you are very talented. I'm looking forward to seeing more. I also enjoy fretwork. Did any of those patterns some from finescrollsaw.com. One of my favorite site and the gentleman that owns it is great to do business with.
  22. Bob, Just read the post you made while I was writing the post I made above. You can apply a little more tension with the back knob when you first put in your spiral blade, but you should not have to adjust it again until you put in a different type of blade. I know spiral use a little more tension. It should never require the upper arm to be far from level with the table.
  23. I have a Seyco and I do not adjust the tension know in the back except when I am making sure the upper arm is level with the table. I do not adjust it when I go from one hole to another. I don't understand what you mean when you write "this tension is lost as the blade will now be clamped a bit higher and the lever always applies the same fixed amount of tension". The tension should always be the same as when you first put the blade in the saw. Could you explain this a little more. Also maybe @scrollingforsanity well jump in here. He is a Seyco owner and he uses his a lot more than I do. My Seyco is more of a backup saw for me. And, Bob welcome to the village, be patient, we will get you help. The are a lot of experts here that have Excalibur saw and they work the same as the Seyco.
  24. Great scrolling as you always do.
  25. You sir have some real talent. That is a beautiful clock. By the way, welcome to the village. Glad to have you join us.
