@Sharon Camille Craig, @Travis, yesterday I email this address from the Old Crow Scrollwerks site: "[email protected]" asking the following question: "Do you know if you can still purchase the Old Crow scroll saw patterns. I belong to ScrollSaw Village forum and there is discussion there because a lady placed an order for an Old Crow Scrollwerks pattern, she never received it and gets no response to her inquiries about it. I sent an inquiry the The Old Crow email address and have not heard back." This morning I had the following response: "Hello Paul D. Of course you can still order and buy samples with me. The lady may get in touch with me. All my buyers were runum satisfied. we will find a solution" I think the respondent is a relative of the late Helmut that made the patterns and was a member of this ScrollSaw Village. Sharon you might email him and see what happens.

It appears the Helmut Schibbogen part is still working. I emailed them and received a message back saying those patterns were still available. They did not answer about Don's patterns. I have sent another email to see if they missed that part of the question.

Not for routing on, but if a person is looking for something to raise things on to paint them.. I have been using these lately and they work great. Free at your local grocery produce department!

Well sorry, but this kind of service will not keep them in business long. And if they go out of business.... were do parts come from? I would be very skeptical. I wish them well. Hope they succeed I do not see how a business can like that. I guess in the greater scheme of things, they are providing a custom built saw and there are not really a large number of buyers,,, so those that want one will be patient. -
Interesting, I assumed at first glance it was the Chevy one, just a different name in Australia. Then I looked up FJ Holden and found out how wrong I was. These were made 1953 - 1957, long before the little Chevy pickup thingy. Maybe that is where Chevy got their idea. I know Chey's was model after the 1950 era pickup,,,, but the idea to build a modern scale down one may have come from the Holden,,,, or not.

Nice job. Those a cool looking car/trucks.. Nice pattern and great cutting. I do all my "veining" that way.

Like to see them in hardwood. Great job on them. You have to work fast if you want to use the wood before it cups. I had a piece of oak 1/4" cup, I straightened it as the directions said. Started sawing "The Last Supper" in it and it cupped again. I straightened I again ( I had only started so not far along), started sawing again, and it cupped again..... Not sure what to do with it now.

@Charlie E can you explain this a little, "then fogged it with flat black from a rattle can to darken it a bit". I think I know what you mean, but have not heard of this before. Did you just kinda lightly mist over it?

Did you switch blades when you went to thicker wood? I've been scrolling for some time, and I still find that I am switching to different types of blades often, still experimenting. The point I am trying to make is, do not hesitate to try different blades for different things. Switching blade is easy and only take a little time. The hardest part if remembering which blade worked the best for what. I am not good at taking/keeping notes! You did a good job on this one, keep on, keep practicing..
