You guys talk of the CW-40, which I never heard of until I read this thread. Then I look at scroll saws for sale in my state and there is a CW-40, I think, for sale. They do not say CW-40 but it looks like the pictures I have seen recently.

I have not renewed my prescription because of this. I know, I am petty. But in this day and age,,,, you should be able to download them. I donated my prescription money to Steve Good. I use more of his patterns anyway.

Congratulations, Melanie! You did a fine job on those. Wasn't really that hard, was it? Great job. I like your idea for the backer. Maybe try one with a backer (1/4" thick) cut just about 1/4" bigger than the piece. so it gives a border. Paint it a Christmas color, you could even work it so you paint the backer green where the holly shows and red on the rest, or something to that effect, or is it affect, not sure which goes here.

Could you have loaded it in inkscape and than save it as a pdf file? I don't know much about inkscape but it seems I read that some where.

I use this Titebond glue. It dries clear. Probably very similar to Aleen’s Tacky glue. I really like it and find I am using it more all the time. I also use thick CA glue on tiny pieces. Applying it from the back of the picture.

You can us heat and a pair of pliers to pull it apart also, just have to be careful not to over do it.

That is a neat project and well done. I was playing on the internet a while back and came across a site that had patterns for several item like this. It was actually a CNC site, but stated the patterns would work with scroll saw also. Oh have it bookmarked https://www.makecnc.com/scrollsaw.php

Very nice retirement gift. He is going to love that. There is a fun rivalry between turners and scrollers. I have a good friend that is a turner and an artist at it, he has taken me with him to the local turner club a few times. I use to turn also, pens and things. He introduces me as a scroll saw artist. Always makes me snicker. I always tell the turners that kid me about scrolling that every thing they make is round..... boring round. I can make things round and any other shape I want.... That shuts them up.... well for a little while anyway...

Really glad you are happy with your new saw. I remember the feeling when I went from the little old worthless crapsman saw I started with and had for years then got a new DeWalt. It was like WOW this is what scrolling is all about. Great feeling and scrolling has been my favorite woodworking hobby ever since. Great cutting you have done.

On my Seyco, I would like a table top without the unnecessary hole rectangle in it and a mechanism to tilt the head like the Excalibur has... On my Hegner, a bigger table would be nice, but I have that covered. I really like it the way it is....

I finished cutting and painting this pattern that @don in brooklin on was kind enough to make for me. I made it at by Daughter's request. Now she has requested a black frame for it..... Any way I like how it turned out, I think she will also. Thanks so much Don for the pattern.
