  1. You did another beauty. Great cutting.
  2. Nice work! I think you made the right choice on the moose.
  3. Now you are just showing off!! That is beautiful, I think I have all your other bowl patterns, guess I need to add this one! You've got mail!!
  4. Poster Board (maybe not the right name?) is paper, just heavier paper. Ya, I checked, it is called Poster Board. Comes in a lot of colors, I use the flat black.
  5. That is really a beautiful piece.
  6. Makes sense, what kind of paint would one use. I have many colors of the acrylic paints.. like the Delta brand.
  7. I thought of stain, but I would still have to have a painters talent to get the right colors and put it in the right place.
  8. Very cool! Nice work.
  9. Looks like it is time for a new auxiliary top with a place for an insert. Then when the hole gets too big you just change the insert. Nice work on the scrolling and decorating.
  10. Ray, this thread was started a year ago. I add a masonite table top to mine, not to long after I first responded to this thread. Works great.
  11. Welcome to the Village. Had to go look at pictures for your part of the country. WOW! What a beautiful looking area.
  12. Dick, I use it a on all my cuttings that I use poster board for a backer. I would hesitate to use it with a wood backer, maybe it would be to heavy. I lay the picture face down and spray the adhesive straight down over it. Then I put the backer poster board on. I have not had one come off yet nor do I see any glue in the frets or edges. On any backer that is painted and wood, like 1/8" plywood, I glue and often time use tiny screws or tacks in addition.
  13. Well thanks Dick, but you don't give yourself enough credit. You do beautiful work, plus you do different varieties, i.e., word art, intarsia, very delicate fretwork, bowls. I am going to try to expand out into some of these other area. But, thank you for you encouragement and kind words...
  14. Beautiful box.
  15. Very well done
  16. I just finished this one, well except for putting a finish on it. The reason, I think this is one of those that begs to be painted, but not sure I can do it. This is a pattern by Grampa. It is a great patten. I did it in natural edge Basswood. Wish I would have had a piece with more bark on the edges.... I really enjoyed cutting it, may try to paint it... But... I am no painter.
  17. yes me to. Sorry. And the modifications are pretty neat and look pretty easy. If I ever stop scrolling long enough I plan on doing them.
  18. Hummm. I'm wondering, it there are no Hegner owners close, why not make a short video showing you slow/soft start, I be more than happy to do the same with mine. I only have short video capability on my little Power Shot camera, but I'm willing to try. You could compare that way,,, maybe.
  19. Dave I have been doing it that way for a long time... So far have had no problems...
  20. Yes very nice!
  21. It is interesting, but I have a Hegner.... would never part with it unless it was a trade in for a newer Hegner. I find it easier to bottom feed on than my Seyco for some reason. I really don't understand why, the upper arm does not go as high as the Seyco but it is easier for me. And I do intricate fret work all the time on it. Smaller table yes, but I increased the size of mine with a piece of 1/8" masonite easily. Anyway, Congrats on your new to you saw. Oh, and I really have no problem with the lower blade clamp, but I do not scroll to make money nor am I in a hurry. I am just totally comfortable with the Hegner.
  22. Great salvage job!! They are real keepers.
  23. And you call me an old blind guy! There are no black parts on it. They are a rosewood and are brown! If you didn't see my posting of it in bragging rights, I thanked you for inspiring me to do it. Had to after seeing the picture of yours.
  24. Really a great picture.
  25. Very very nicely done.
