  1. I'd love to try one someday.
  2. I have one with LED, 5X and glass lens. First little while I thought, too much, but after a while I grew to love and depend on it. I have the Harbor Freight one also, what I started with and I still use it on one saw. It's good but now seems weak, kinda yellowish light. It is what you get use to, but I do much prefer LED lighting over florescent.
  3. Looks to me you have it figured out! Very nice. I applaud you for being brave enough to attempt it. I have got to get brave and go for it.
  4. I love that Steve Good pattern and you really did a wonderful piece with it. Great choices of wood and method of displaying it.
  5. Oh, my you live in a beautiful area of Ore! Been through that area several times over the years and always told my wife, "I could live here!". How far are you from Lake Wallowa and Joseph, ore? Camped a Lake Wallowa many times. That area is probably one of the most beautiful areas in Ore, along with the Ore., Coast. Can I come and visit?????? Did a hike to Eagle Cap with some younger guys.... story is I "crawled" into camp an hour after everyone else.... I deny it. Well. maybe....
  6. Really a nice portrait of your very pretty bride.
  7. Oh, boy! Another NW member. You do not say where in Oregon, but there are a few Oregon and Washington members. I am S. E. Wa. The owner of this forum is Vancouver, Wa. So make yourself at home. Maybe someday we can have a NW get together! We would, of course invite @Heppnerguy even though he left us for Arizona.
  8. Nicely done!
  9. Rockytime, I thought the guy that bought you Hawk a while back was going to teach you how to polish your table top. I've been kinda watching posts to read if that happen or not. I'm curious how he does it. I have always read that silicone is not good... do not know from experience though.
  10. Nice scrolling!
  11. I think it looks great. If they are not happy with that it is their problem not yours. Someone else will be. Great job.
  12. I Have a Hegner and I a put a few drops of oil on it when I think I have put around 20 hours or so on it. I do not really keep track, just when I feel it is time. I use 3 in 1 house hold oil. I would think sewing machine oil would be fine. Any light oil.
  13. And the little rivet that holds the two halves of the scissors....
  14. Glad to have you join us.
  15. Outstanding picture.
  16. All the above, look great, very well done, beautiful. Thanks for showing them.
  17. Very nice looking plaque.

    DeWalt DW788

I notice you are fairly new here, so just in case you didn't know, a lot of us wax our scroll saw tables every so often. Fact I was all the tables my tools have. I use Johnson's Paste Wax. Others use other brands/types. Do not use on that contain silicon in it. Can't remember why, but I have always read/heard that. Waxing does several things. Helps prevent rusting, make the table slick so things move on it easier and helps prevent build up of pitch from the wood. May help with the wearing of the table coating also.

    Excalibur EX-21

I have never made puzzles, but I have owned a DW 788 and I do own an Ex. If you liked the DW you will love the Ex. Least that is how it is for me. I also have a Hegner, for the type of sawing I like to do, (detailed pictures) I prefer the Ex. Just my opinion.
