  1. Thanks, represents one of the biggest thrills of my life.... better than sex.... as I remember it.....?
  2. images of rolling pin holders on Google may give you ideas.
  3. Great scrolling, I like both.
  4. Probably is. It is not made in Canada nor is the King nor the Seyco. I am not sure where they are made anymore.
  5. King is making/selling the 16" and 30" Excalibur branded as the King Scroll Saw. General is making the 21" Excalibur and selling it only. Least that is how I understand it. Then there is the Seyco 21" which is a take off of the Excalibur with some changes.
  6. Marge, you can click on the model of the equipment you have and download the manual. If it is not listed you can click in the high lighted text in the instructions and it will auto go to their email. You may have to scroll down a little to get to the Excaliburs but they are there. http://general.ca/manuals.html Oh, just noticed if you go to the review section on Excaliburs on this site there is a bottom to click to get the manual... Just click on it below! Travis is so nice!
  7. Very well done!

    Excalibur EX-16

Nothing I have heard of. I do know, if I could get a decent price for my Hegner, I would sell it and buy a second Excalibur.

    Hegner Multimax 22-V

Okay I just read what I wrote in 2015 just after I purchased my Hegner. I my view has drastically changed over the past two years. I figured out my problems with the saw and they were my operator problems. I now love my Hegner. Sure it could be modernized, but I enjoy the saw as is also. If I could only have one saw, I would have my Hegner. I know it will out live me.

    Hegner Multimax 22-V

I have one. I agree with Stoney, I think it is time for Hegner to modernize their saw. If it had a lifting arm, more modern clamp system, it would be an unbeatible saw. As is, it is good for thicker woods, hard woods and such, but for detailed fret work, I don't even try to use it anymore. I have not been able to use the small spiral blades (3/0) with it. Hotshot warned me about this when I was thinking of buying one. But alas, I had it in my mind I wanted one and did not listen. For the type of work I like to do I would have been better off with another Excalibur. If I get into intarsia work or thick wood type cutting, I think I will be very happy with the Hegner.

    Excalibur EX-30

I have a 21" Ex. When I put a new blade in I put it into the top clamp first to insure it is in the top clamp with the top of the blade level with the top of the clamp. That being, the top of the blade is as high in the clamp as the flat part that the spring back in the clamp is resting. This extends the top of the blade about 1/4" above the screw that holds it in place. Do not set the tension lever. Then I feed it down through the table and clamp the bottom. I'm a bottom feeder so then I go to the top clamp and release the blade so I can start working. So I guess I'm saying make sure the top of the blade is far enough up into the top clamp. I also wipe the ends of the new blades with alcohol on a rag to remove the oil on them. You might want to restart this thread in the "General Scrolling" area or something like that. Not many read addition to this thread unless they are looking to buy a saw.
  13. I cut a lot of basswood and do not have much problem as described. I bet it is Balsa. Somewhat softer than Basswood, although it hard for me to imagine them making wine boxes out of Balsa wood..... I have not seen many wine boxes in my life... I buy the cheap stuff!!
  14. Good to here from you and that is a great sign!
  15. Really some nice scrolling!!
  16. WOW! That is some delicate work. Beautiful!
  17. Well done.
  18. All your "stuff" is very nice!
  19. Great scrolling and just the right selection to do it in.
  20. What a cutie she is, for sure. Nice work on the picture..
  21. recently started a thread on making some little items from scraps and carry around to as giveaways. I made some little "Care Bears". I kept looking at them and thinking they need something a little bright to liven them up a little. I experimented with some 15 minute epoxy colored with paint mixed in. They will set over the weekend while I am gone. Hope the epoxy cures well and I hope it is thin enough that when held up light can shine through. Just having fun playing, but if this works it is very quick and easy so doesn't add hardly any work to the bears. Here is before and after looks. Yes or no?
  22. Nice one and a great Father Day present. I have a chair/stool similar to your new one. Nice to be able to adjust it's height, sometimes that will help with the back and shoulders. Just a slight change.
  23. That is a beauty.
  24. Looks great. Now cut some chess figures to add.
