  1. Dan, welcome to the forum. Glad to have you join us.
  2. Hope you get the wood. Nice cutting you did there.
  3. Looks good. How big is the board?
  4. Ray, on the what appears to be a "short blade", " 5 inch blade doesn't really have any room to spare in length." make sure your tension lever on the upper arm is forward,,,, don't worry how I know this.... if that is the case, it is in the forward position, just unscrew the tension knob in the back until you have the room you need. Those are the only two things that can impact that, well unless you blade is broke and not 5",,, don't worry how I know this... "I read on the website about the different sizes of holders and it said that the slots are visible to the eye as to which one is wider or narrower and that they mid size one started being marked with a divot let than 20 years ago." WHAT! That is news to me. I have to go look at the holders again. The width of the slot is not visible to this guys old eyes. I have never notices a "divot", humm, I have to check this out.
  5. Ray, darn after going back and looking at the pictures, I don't see the wrench, I bet he has it somewhere. I'd email him and ask, he may have it somewhere and he should send it to you. Then you will have a spare... Yes there are different blade holders and they are not marked as to size, but I have been told and I believe it, the mid one, I think the .07mm will take care of them all. Could be wrong, but the quick clamp handles all sizes so one of the other clamps should. If I ever buy more of those clamps I will etch the size on it with one of those vibrator tools. Mine cane with two sets but I no longer know what ones are witch. Also, I think the owners manual is down loadable from Advance Machinery. Read the part about the upper clamp. It should be slightly floating in its holder, it should not be in there tight. That was the mistake I made when I first got mine.
  6. Really happy for you, Ray. I think after some getting use to it, you will love the saw. I sure do mine. Also a beautiful trip you went on, I have done it a couple time, the only way it can get more beautiful is to continue on up through the Oregon coast. Washington coast is beautiful but you don't get to see much of it from the highway.
  7. Nice cutting.
  8. "Just rattle can spray paint", ha, well you sure have mastered the rattle can spray painting. That is beautiful work.
  9. That should be a good seller. Nice job.
  10. Great cutting, very cute puzzle. I also appreciate the effort you put into presenting/photographing you work. That is something I want to put more effort into.
  11. Those are some great pictures. May I ask where you got the Buddha pattern. My D-I-L is Buddhist and I would like to cut one for her.
  12. Okay, got it done today. I think my son will be happy. He spoke for it and he is more important to me than a Friends of the NRA banquet. Not much more important,,,, but a little.
  13. Those are great, we all agree the Marine one is the best! "Once a Marine, Always a Marine"
  14. Beautiful! I just got home from attending a wood turner's club meeting. No, I am not a turner,, well not much,, but it is the only "wood" people close that I can be around. I want to make a few bowls similar to yours to take to the meeting and show them scrollers can make pretty bowls and boxes also. That is if I can make one as pretty as yours....
  15. Ask Ray at Seyco, I think the replacement parts come with step by step instructions. No video though.
  16. Nice to have you join us.
  17. I really love your pictures. I love the old sailing ships. Great cuttings. I agree about the shelf paper, all though I haven't mastered getting it on easily. I will get my method established though.
  18. Great cutting. I got a kick out of his shows.
  19. Cute! They will be popular.
  20. Could you drill a little hole in the bottom of the bird, put a round tooth pick in it and use that to hold the bird while you paint it, or glue the unpainted bird to the perch you are going to mount the bird on (leave the perch long), shape and paint the bird, the cut the perch to length and glue it into the bird house. Use the perch to hold the bird while shaping/painting.
  21. I will never be able to make one again without trying to paint the bird. It really looks great. Makes the bird show up so much more which improves the whole piece. I love it.
  22. I don't have a clue who, but I know a nice pattern and cutting when I see it.
  23. Glad you are thawing out. I just received a e-mail from my son. Sent a short video, his FedEx flight was suppose to take off around 2 am, He was still sitting on the plane, waiting. They are having a snow storm and can't take off. He sent the video around 9am. This is in Memphis!!
  24. Welcome to the forum. I think you will get help and make good friends here. I think you are already getting good answers. Might help if you let us know the type saw you have, maybe even a picture.
  25. Nice job Steve.
