  1. Well it just proves snorers are very good scrollers... the proof is in your piece there.
  2. That is cool and if blue will be even cooler!
  3. I know nothing about bearing.. so I want to ask. Can't you purchase the same size bearing only of a much better quality and replace the ones that come on the saw? Or would it not be feasible?
  4. OKAY! Be honest, how many posted here what they were going to do last weekend, and how many actually accomplished what they said?? I did not. I scrolled my little heart out but did not finish my Sea Turtle until Tuesday evening. Finished scrolling but not finished with a finish and frame. I did a little sanding on the "pole dancers" (wonder if I can talk her out of an instruction video for the Hamsa box?? I do have a picture of her,,, not bad, not bad,,) Hamsa box but there is so much more to do. I am a failure...
  5. Very nice work!
  6. I think I noticed that the ones at Wooden Teddy Bear us a C battery. By the way, that is another great looking one. Did you say where you are getting your patterns from, or are these your own design?
  7. Very glad you have you join us. I want to say, and please do not take offense in this, I'm just trying to help, but, the saw you have is not a true scroll saw. Look like a handy tool, but at best it will work for silhouettes and such. No real fret work.. That is not to say you can't learn using it, but if, you really want to do scroll work you might latter on want to look for a scroll saw, plenty of good used one for sale.
  8. Just thought of another that I have purchased several patterns from recently. http://alexscrollsaw.wixsite.com/scrollsawpatterns
  9. Frank, I think you should send your surgical procedure to Steve Good so he can improve his pattern. Yours is certainly much better.
  10. When I purchased mine I was able to get it a little here than off Amazon. You might compare and see if that is still true. http://www.modularhose.com/
  11. I have been on a lot of wood working type forums. This is the biggest and the most friendly, informative and helpful of all I have been a member of. Most forums I have belonged to have clicks, and if you don't fit the click, you are left outside. I do not feel that here. The only other forum I have belonged to that was as good is Family Woodworking forum. Great people, just not nearly as many as here.
  12. Very very well done. That will be treasured.
  13. She is getting it straight because she supervised me cutting it.
  14. Ray, I think the 1" PVC would work fine. Might even make the setup more rigid. The Loc-Line does not come in 1", the closest is 3/4". so I don't think use 1" PVC will help the air noise. But, more rigid is good. Looking at the picture of you vac hose, it doesn't look like it has a bleeder hole, it may but I can't tell. If not I think the ball valve would work fine in your setup. I bought my Loc-Line for here: http://www.modularhose.com/ It worked out to be a little cheaper than Amazon. You might check it, Amazon prices change often. The Loc-Line turned out to be more expensive than I thought. I purchased 2 of the kits, some extra hose, and some extra threaded connectors (to connect Loc-Lome to the PVC. The kits have a 3/4" nozzle and a 5/8" nozzle. I wish I have purchased some extra 3/4" nozzles so I could use them on all ends. Keep in mind I have set this up on two saws, so you will not need as much "stuff" as I did, unless you have two saws.
  15. Nice work. What part of Washington are your friends moving to?
  16. I went back and checked my wood order. It is Butternut. First time I have used it. The description says it is soft and lightweight. It is.... Even softer than Basswood.
  17. WOW Kevin, is there anything you can't do?
  18. Really different and I really like them. Great job.
  19. Some very nice pieces. Jon Snow,,,, "Game of Thrones". Reading the books for the second time. As usual, the books are much better than the show.
  20. Just took this off the saw a little while ago. Showing my wife some patterns and this is the only one she has ever requested I cut for her. I was glad she did because I love this pattern. It was difficult because the piece of wood I selected to cut it in was difficult. Not sure what it is, but not one of the easiest woods I have cut. But I made it. It is an Alex Fox pattern. Several on here have cut it. Great pattern as is all of his.
  21. Very nice!
  22. WOODEN VISIONS http://woodenvisions.com/index.php/scroll-saw-patterns/ http://www.scrollsawartist.com/
  23. Please let us know how you fare at the fair!!
  24. Mark, I don't know either except Seyco has their own saw now. They would be in direct competition with each other. Woodcraft sold the Ex and it was a good selling saw for them also. Maybe they got to King before Ray, maybe, maybe. Be interesting to know all the detail of how things came about. I do feel if this King is as advertised and at the price they are selling it, I think Seyco will have to come down on their price to compete.
