  1. I am weak, I cannot resist, just had to order the "Workshop" pattern.... May get to it in the next five years!
  2. Just curious, why do you mix Shellac with Alcohol? The Shellac is really thin, least the can I have is. It is at least as thin as a 50/50 mix of BLO/MS. And Shellac dries quickly, almost too quickly sometimes. Mix BLO/MS to speed up the drying. So I understand the reasons for mixing BLO/MS. Are you mixing S/A for the same reasons?
  3. I have the 7" x 2", only size I have tried but I really like it. I have 180 and 240 grits and a 120 due by tomorrow. It appears to me that theys sand finer than the equal grit sheet paper. The 180 is the one I have ended up using the most and ordered the 120 grit for when I need more aggressive sanding. The only thing I have used the 240 for is light sanding over a finish like poly or shellac to smooth it. This is my experience, others may have different info. I have only been using them for about a month. I usually mount mine in my lathe to use.
  4. Very neat.

  12. Nice work, very cheery!
  13. Looks, gooooooodd!
  14. The link I provided above is to a guy in America that sells Volker Arnold patterns. Not sure if one place or the other is cheaper, the ones I purchased were sent via email, so no postage. Maybe the only difference in the exchange rate of the monies.
  15. new clamps are available at Seyco http://seyco.com/partspage/ Over time the clamps can spread out do to repeated tightening of the bladed in the clamp. It is a part that can wear out. Maybe worth replacing.
  16. You did a nice job Kevin. I have that pattern, my wife wants me to cut one for each of her quilting friends for a small Christmas present this year. I haven't started yet.
  17. I have purchased a few sets of patterns from here. http://woodyoubelieveshop.blogspot.com/ I have done one so far, have the lights but have not put them on. Got to get that done before December....
  18. Looks great.
  19. IF use the real "Sanding Mop" which is from Klingspor, you will need to buy a mandrill and then the grits of fillers you want. I have a Sanding Mop, it works great and I also have the Mac Mops, they work great also. I think the Mop is more for contoured pieces and the Mac for flat, but for what you want to do, either will work. A little spendy, yes, but like stated, last a long long time.
  20. Way to go. That is great!
  21. Bill, no saw maker is obligated to stay in business. I purchased a Seyco saw, how do I know they will be around 4 or 5 years from now? Or less if their saws do not sell. However, a person may not be able to get DeWalt parts for long either. The only saws with really longevity records are Hegner and the Hawk. I know you can get parts for Hegner no matter the age, not sure about Hawk but they have been around a long long time. Just saying as long as Seyco stays in business, I think you will be able to get parts for your Ex. They are interchangeable. Least I had an Ex and they parts look identical to me.
  22. WOW! Very neat!
  23. This was asked some time ago. I got it wrong, but I normally rotate the wood counter clockwise when I can.
  24. Welcome to the forum. I'm anxious to learn more details on the saw as you research it. What a beast. Definitely mire than the average scroller would require.
  25. Welcome to the forum. I think I have seen you work somewhere else, least the owl look familiar. Very glad you are joining us. Look forward to more posting from you showing you beautiful pieces.
