  1. Good point Kevin. My Ex was assembled when I received it, except for the stand, of course. That is really what I was expecting this time around also. If Seyco has done a bad here, it will really hurt their future sales. Takes a lot to build a good reputation, and not much to lose a good one.
  2. Thanks for the review. Steve Good sang such high praises of the saw, that I ordered one. I am really anxious to see how he handles the assembly issues.... I really think you should send this review to Seyco. They need to know the good and the bad. Your review does not discourage me, I appreciate you pointing out the short comings, I will not be shocked when mine arrives. I also do not plan on using their stand, I have a cabinet that my Excalibur was mounted on that I really like and my plan is to use it with this saw. I prefer custom made cabinets for my saws because a stand is wasted space. No efficient storage underneath and with my small shop all space counts. Unfortunately my saw is due to arrive while I am out of town. It will sit at my brothers house for a week before I can get it. I hope he doesn't get it in his head to try to assemble it for me. He knows nothing about scroll saws. Well really he knows nothing..... just kidding, I love my brother he is a good man.
  3. Going to two very happy little ladies.
  4. Okay, my dumb, I should have figured that out. Certainly not "lucky dip" you tell him the ones you want. Just so you know, Travis also has a big selection of these patterns. Not quite sure how you get to his site, I just stumbled on to it the other day while searching the web.
  5. WOW! Please explain, how you did that. If you painted it, well WOW again. Looks cool no matter how you did it.
  6. My grandson is a N T fan. He would love that. Great job.
  7. Great cutting. I especially like that bowl (third from the end). How big is that?
  8. Mr. Busy Busy. Great stuff. I wish you much success in your selling out of a shop. Sounds like a great opportunity.
  9. Charley I agree, very good advice. When I first started scrolling, I struggled, a lot. Someone, sorry forgot who, on here advised me to relax. Lower my shoulders and breath normal. That little bit of wisdom changed the who picture for me. I did not realize I was so tense that I had my shoulders hunched up around my ears and I would hold my breath. When I followed that advice, I started doing as you recommend, using my fingers to control feeding the wood and steering it to cut. It came natural.
  10. AWESOME! Dan that is a piece of find craftsmanship. Time for the Bots now?
  11. Yes Frank, Iggy make it real easy. I go to his site, browse his puzzles and make a list of the ones I want. Then I go to purchase patterns and click add to cart. Enter how many you are going to purchase and then in the little white box keyin the names of the ones you want. Then do the paypal thing. You will hear from Scott in short order. He sends them via email. "Lucky Dip"? In Amerca we say... Easy peasy.
  12. Great job! Really does look nice.
  13. Ah man, just your normal beautiful outstanding work Kris.....
  14. Very well done portraits.
  15. Frank, I used scraps of 1/2 in. plywood. Most was Baltic Birch. The blade I found that worked best for me was a #3 Pegas Modified Geometry.
  16. I have to to take the time to try one soon. I find them fascinating. I keep saying that, but so many projects, so little time. And I keep buying patterns. There is no end..... Been hoping some one would post some pictures of theirs.
  17. Mahendra does patterns here, I have cut several. "Lack of choices" we in America are so blessed and most don't even realize it. We have a bounty of choices of everything, go to any other country and choices are limited. I always remember when my daughter-in-law and and grandkids came to stay with us for while after living in Japan for several years. Her and her daughter went to a Walmart just to get some suntan lotion, shortly after arriving back in the states. She told me they had to leave the store, they had forgotten how it was. So many choices, they felt over whelmed with all the choices... And most here do not seem to appreciate it....
  18. Seyco use to sell a magnetic top that fit the Excalibur for around $19. They are out of stock now probably because they are not selling Ex any more. I bet you could buy one that is for the new Seyco saw and cut it to fit. They may not have them on their site but I bet they well have in the near future.
  19. Well done!
  20. What is not to like! That is awesome.
  21. Well the other evening I finished all the puzzles patterns I purchased from Scott (Iggy). I GOT to re-cut the lion because I broke a piece when sanding. I say "GOT" because I was kinda sad to finish all the patterns I had. SOOOOOoo, I ordered 7 more... ! I really find cutting these relaxing. When I tire working on some other scrolling that is more nerve racking, I stop and cut one of the puzzles. I just fine it very relaxing. They are not hard to cut but do take some care. You want the pieces to fit nicely. As I say I find them relaxing when tense, I also find they work good as sort of "warm up" cutting to get you going. I have no idea what I will do with all the puzzles, I don't want to over do it with my Grandson. Guess I will keep them around to let little ones play with if any ever come to visit. I have also found they are kinda like the "fidget spinner" , if they are sitting some where people just have to take them apart and put them back together just like they have to pick up the fidget spinner and play with it. Okay, I know I sound like a sales person for Iggy's puzzles, and I am not, darn fun though and darn good service from Iggy....... just saying,,,
  22. Keep in mind these tiny drill bits are like scroll saw blades, they break. I buy and use sizes 63 through 70 most. I buy six or more of each size at a time.
  23. Really a nice job. I like the dark green.
  24. Great job Kevin. I have that pattern to make Christmas plaques for my wife's little quilting club. They will not be that big though.
  25. I'm don inlay expert but I do know you can find small drill bits on the internet at about any of the sites that sell scroll saw blades. i.e. Wooden Teddy bear, Mike's Workshop... There are two tutorials on this site about inlay work that were posted in the last few weeks. Nice looking clock
