  1. I should have clarified, I meant to refer to the parent company that sourced out their production to an overseas company. But maybe there is another reason for the shortage, that we don't know about. Time will tell.
  2. Well for some reason I do not have a whole lot of sympathy for them.
  3. That makes a great piece. Very well done.
  4. I think if I found a good deal like that, I'd own 3 saws.
  5. I probably too old to change also..... Nothing wrong with bottom feeding, I was just curious how those that top feed do it on the real tiny holes. I use my Hegner most the time now, so bottom feeder I will be..
  6. Yep, I know that trick. I've been doing that for a long time. I use my disk sander. I helps a great deal even when bottom feeding.
  7. I would cut several, put backers on some, maybe different colors. try acrylic on one or two and leave some without. Now, get busy on it. Darn daughters anyway, always wanting you to work. When I go see my daughter she has a list of projects for me. She thinks keeping me busy is good. What is wrong with her??
  8. Do you do this before or after you put the backer on. I used this method once and then could not get the backer to stick very well. Just curious.
  9. I have an Ex and it does that once and a while. Something to do with where the motor stopped last time it ran. Well not so much the motor as the running gear attached to it. Why it is happening often, I so not have a clue. Does it shut off quickly when you stop it or does it (the motor take a split second to stop? Is it vibrating more than it use to?
  10. Great job!
  11. Well done.
  12. I use both.. spiral and flat. This is not a big deal to me, I just curious what others have success at. I've tried, it was awkward for me and I have bent up several blades each time I tried.
  13. Tim, those are might fine, I lean towards the barns, not that they are better/prettier, but, because they are unique. Great work all around... Are the movements wind up or battery?
  14. Dave, I just mic-ed a #70 and it measured 1/32. Jerry, You can cut with the blade upside down, but it puts all the saw dust and fuzzies on the top side. More than most saw blowers can keep up with blowing away. Plus feeding down through that little hole through the table top hole with a zero clearance piece on it, makes it all even tougher. I get along fine as a bottom feeder, and because I use a Hegner, bottom feedind is the only option on it. I just have tried the top feeding on the Ex and before the Ex a DeWalt and guess I am not coordinated enough. Guess I am just mainly curious if those that top feed accomplish it with the small holes and blades. Dave does so I will probably give it some more tries.
  15. I am a bottom feeder, but have tried top feeding several times. Are you that top feed, able to feed a #2/0 or #1blade through a hole drilled with a #70 bit. Top feeding means the saw teeth are going against the direction of feeding.... I'm just curious, I have tried but only accomplished bending the blade all up. Top feeding make sense to me, but I haven't succeeded in doing it through real small holes.
  16. Thanks for the update. I have purchased a lot of items off ebay. Only had one bad experience and ebay took care of it.
  17. There is another thread here about this. Might have the answer in it. I haven't looked at it for a while.
  18. Super nice cutting and pattern, Steve.
  19. Welcome, glad you are joining us. I went to the local shooting range this past week and did some shooting with my son. First time I has shoot a gun of any kind in over 13 years. Found out I am now officially a shaky old man. But it was fun and I am going to join the range.
  20. Makes me want to sit back and have a Corona. Very well done...
  21. Mr. Monk, you do beautiful work. That is very classy.
  22. Those are really nice.
  23. I've been reading about it. Looks like it would be fun. I think I will take your pattern, like you I have a set of dominoes, that nave never been used.... Well I am older now. Thanks for the pattern
  24. Nice one, I bet you wish you still had it. When I got married, I had a Sunbeam Tiger, my wife had a big '64 Ford Galaxy. Funny thing happened, Patti started driving a Sunbeam Tiger, I started driving a "64 Ford Galaxy.... Don't know how that happened.
