I have and use the small clamp. I have both, have never had a reason to use the bigger clamp yet.

The problem I have with mine is getting the tension adjusted correctly for the size blade. So far I have not been able to use a blade smaller than a #3. I like to do delicate pictures, and my most used blade is a spiral #3/0. I have not been able to work with one on my Hegner. Very thankful I have an Excalibur also otherwise I would no be enjoying scrolling. Hopefully I will someday figure out the right combo to get them to work with the Hegner. All I can say is practice, be patient, buy lots of blades. It is a great saw, but like I say it takes some getting use to. You might check out the different clamps available at Advance Machinery. Phillip, I have a Hegner and they take some getting use to. I have only had mine a few months so I am still trying. I see from your first picture that there are two things I would suggest trying. I have a different clamp on mine but I also have the same clamp you have that I have used. The screw above the clamp should be screwed down till it is almost touching the top of the clamp. On that type clamp you do not want it toughing but almost, as I understand it. Also try to get the blade as perpendicular to the clamp as you possibly can. In the picture below I have arrows pointing to what I am talking about. I have the screw all the way down on mine and you are suppose to with the clamp I am using. Also do not hesitate to call Advance Machinery ( 800.727.6553 ). They will help you, no matter if you didn't buy from them.

Very well done. That is a pattern I have, or one similar, that I hope to get to someday. Mine is for a picture, not stand alone. I like what you did. I would put a clear finish on it. Mainly because it makes it a little easier to remove dust.

I cannot really answer your question except to say, the Lion Roar and the Leopard Roar pictures I cut are each made with three pieces of wood I glued together to get the width of board I needed. I had no problems with them as far as staying together.

I have not ordered any, but there is quite a bit on Ebay. It is spendy. There are some good sellers on Ebay, if you watch their rating. One with large sales, like hundreds of sales and 100% ratings is what I look for. I have bought lots of wood off Ebay and been pleased as long as I check out the seller. Fact I have only had one time on Ebay that I did not get my order. I filed a complaint and Ebay refunded my money. It was painless.

A question about mixing boiled linseed oil

I mix it about 50/50. I fell it does two things. One. it make is thinner than straight BLO and it soaks into the wood better. Two, it dries quicker than straight BLO. That's my take on it. -
Not user friendly at all at this point. Hopefully it will get better. If not, it may not succeed.

The windows 10 app says my upgrade is ready. I need to click to continue to choose when to upgrade. If I do that what will the options be? Will it let me down load the upgrade but let me start it when I want, like a few months from now?

I'm a Kokopelli fan. Such a happy little guy. Nicely done. In my cigar box guitar making days I did a Kokopelli playing a guitar for a sound hole cover. I like it.

Beautiful piece. AND so great to see you able to scroll and post work again. i have a similar pattern, but mine is not as delicate looking as your. Guess mine is for cheap wine bottles not champagne! Oh, just noticed this was posted 2 months ago. Well darn, it is still nice to view your cuttings.
