I have used most of the methods above, but usually, I tape the edges. I hate messing with hot glue. In addition to taping the edges, I use small wire nails on larger pieces. I put a nails in some of the waste areas. I have a steel bar I lay the pattern on, Pound the nail(s) in with a Hammer, remember hammers(?). No pin nailer/compressor required. The point of the nail is flattened when it hits the steel bar. Then I cut the protruding top of the nail off with clippers.

I love it. I want to do both the dog and the cat. They will brighten up a room.

I contacted the seller and he responded that he had no idea why the paint was like that. The whole stand is that way, no places underneath, inside legs all. I contacted Hawk and asked them about it via their message system and of course on response, which is what I expected. It's hard for me to want to do business with that kind of CS. If they do not want to respond to messages do not have a setup for them.

I would make the shingles by shaping a long piece of wood in the shape I want the shingles. Then cut the stick into thin slices. Or, just cut them out on thin plywood, stack-cutting, them of course.

Something is telling me. NO! Everything I get myself talked into something comes up, saying NO! Two weeks ago our range died. Despite all my son's, YouTube's and my efforts we could not revive it. So, now we are shopping for a new range. Last week I had to have a repair done to our 15-year-old Camry. That was $500+. And a few weeks ago we ordered a new couch. Ours was warn clear through. So although I would love to, I do not feel I can. Plus it is over 300 miles from me, which would not stop me if I didn't have these other unplanned expenses.

I make military emblems for veterans I meet. I have a size I like to do of a pattern. In the past I have always printed them on my printer which will not handle the size I need. So I printed them on software that allowed half on one page other half on a second. I cut and taped the two together. It worked but some good some bad. So today I printed the two halves out, taped them together has I always have, then took them to a copy shop. Had my taped copies printed on larger paper, same size pattern, but all together... It is beautiful, a great cost for 10 copies, $.30ea. And so much easier than cutting and pasting each separately. I Will be doing this with all my other military or other patters that I cut multiple times. It amazes me how cheap it is to go to a copy shop and make copies on any size paper or card stock . And it will also cut down, some of my cost in ink and paper.

May I ask what price range you got yours at? I have been communicating with the seller on this one... has come down $100. but I offered in the range of $400. Is that fair? I will probably get rejected now. but who knows? Depends on other offers. I can not nor will not pay more.

Kevin can afford a shop like that, but I could not afford the scraps cut out for the windows. He makes a bunch each year off of scrolling-- or he married into a bunch of money!. Maybe he makes it off his good looks. Either or whichever I do not have. But good on him!

Very well done, Barb. I think maybe intarsia is your nitch. I like the rope the way you did. The next military I build, after I finish the four I am working on, is going to be for me. I have plans to make the border rope in pieces like you did the rope for your piece. Each twist being a single piece. Plus some other things to make it more special. That way I will not be so quick to give it away as I have been in the past. I seem to always end up not having one for myself.

I absolutely agree with the two posts above mine. Beech. I would send you a picture of some, right now it is on the bottom of my wood pile. I love to cut and use it on something, I want to have a rich warm look.

I think most remove the lower blade guard. But wait for more responses to see if I am correct. It has been several years Since I have had an excalibur.

It is a Steve Good pattern. I down load it just a few days ago. After seeing it here. in his catalog search "Golden Jesus and Cross". I think that is the pattern.
