  1. I have a Hegner scroll saw which I am 100% satisfied with. But I cannot help looking at Hawk saws. I have never used one but it I could get a great deal I would be greatly tempted to buy one. I would prefer a 26" but would not rule out a 20". My problem is I do not know enough about them. I am concerned about what to look out for. there are different clamps, some good some not so good. I want the some good ones, There are motor some good some can not be fixed.. I want the some good ones. The are other thing that one should know about them. In my area say within 200 miles of me there a quit a few Hawks listed on Facebook market. They are ranging from $100 to $1200. There are some that have been listed for a long time. They look good but I do not want to pay the price. Some have been listed for quite a while. The look good ones that have been list for many week I am thinking of making a low ball offer on. But I am very hesitant to make an offer I may be stuck with and find out it was not a good saw to begin with. I will give an example and you hawk people tell me how good it is. This one has been listed for several weeks. Looks good but I want to low ball offer of like $200 -$250. Would it be a great deal at that price. And I read good things about Ultra ones how do I know when I am looking at one of those. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1024624172155898/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A24bf04ec-aff3-4df6-8a9f-2231760df095
  2. I have shown this before but it is sitting close by and I thought it really looked like spring. And I have a real urge to make some birdhouses of I purchased some cedar boards a couple days age. Little late for this years brood of babies but start for next spring.
  3. What is the saying "patience is virtue"
  4. super job on both!! I have the patterns. Not sure I will ever get them done. Looks very challenging.
  5. Congrats, I think you got an awesome saw. The poor guy is probably regretting selling it now.
  6. You could try messaging him through here: https://www.pinterest.co.kr/bobbyriggs54/
  7. well by the tag I would say 20" variable speed looks in very good condition. But know nothing more.
  8. I wonder,,, (oh oh here we go), if you extended that piece of metal (the red piece) further in the back and attached a spring to it, you could make it so when you release the blade from the clamp the arm would automatically go up and stay like a Hegner does. I would not try it on any saw I had. But maybe some brave sole out there might.
  9. I've seen those on the internet. I think it would be great fun to build.. but take up too much room for my little shop. I would also like to build a chevalet saw for marquetry. Just think it would be fun to build. Seems to me on that first saw after a while one foot would be bigger or smaller than the other from all that exercise.
  10. Look very cute all painted up and put on a kitchen window sill.
  11. Nice picture. Both the F-16 and the grosbeak. We have them here occasionally but they are colored totally different.
  12. Very well done!
  13. Unless you will set it where the sprinklers hit it, probably no need. I would be tempted to do the inside of the box with something, because that is where it will get moist and not get a chance to completely dry. Maybe line it with tar paper, plastic sheeting... Not a gardener, least not successful one here. I cannot even get an avocado seed going.
  14. Great job, Denny! I liked that pattern. You really did a awesome job with it.
  15. Stepping up a few notches! That is great!
  16. I'm thinking and looking at turn-tables. Going back that way. My main concern is if I buy an older one could it get tubes/needles for it... I have a big box of 33's from when I was a teenybopper, some great jazz and I have one called African Drums, that is what the whole record is and another that is just the sound of drag racing cars taking off the line. I use to be able to name they type of engine just by the sound. Not any more I am sure.
  17. Really nice bird houses. Makes me want to make some real ones. I love watching birds.
  18. Awesone Job! Bernd. Well worth all the effort. I see some real challenges.
  19. You really come up with lots of unique things... I agree this is one of your best! Great piece of art.
  20. I say, because I love spending other peoples money, buy it.. Sounds like it is a good entry level scroll saw. Looking at my local craigslist there are several Delta's for sale.. only one has a lesser asking price. These seem to be pretty popular saws for their price range and age.. another thing to consider from what I have looked at.. if you buy it and it is a complete bust.. you could get your money back selling parts from it.
  21. Very nice cuttings, Jeff. Should do that fishing one for my son, Even with his own bass pond he, me thinks, is a typical fisherman lier!
  22. I'd buy several to have around. They wear, the center hole gets cut up. https://www.ebay.com/itm/325401268600?itmmeta=01HVXW6AR9EJCTZZV2BZZVD0CX&hash=item4bc36d5178:g:zrMAAOSw1StjWtSO&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8J8djUOcBxaYmNXAcvFXSNul2p6kQuaOcUjX9Yrhi%2FZAIo5PZK29GygmF4qznEcKDlP2LTyI1Z45WVmuM25pnN7gMJy5HaMk%2BHz5a5rzeAIZiOunNa7OgGbDSozFSL8yAIxrBjxniTyKZ4ijOTaYY9ShUmJ6oIA8BKrCBfsfycQq3i7P1t15fBwvsGieYJDQBi3lsj%2FgDp4p5p%2BdTcG%2BCVAoePzw%2FWkeZUBXB1mvhIEAP0%2FTgUHo5CfkIrr6ovm5fwt%2F0gGyvmQcgeo0oUu3jTGoz%2B9nnz%2Bxfy4vNV7bKBX7hUWvkQt%2F%2B3vlYPPhkEqDiA%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR6CsmbzfYw
  23. And over here after a little seaching,,, I say no. Parts not available, and not a great saw to begin with. Let us know your approximate location. and those in that area can help better. do not get in a big rush. A bette saw, better deal is out there.
