  1. Glad you are joining us. That looks like an awesome project. Please keep us posted on your progress.
  2. My Grandson is a big hockey fan, His team to follow is the Nashville Predators. So decided to try to make a segmented emblem for him. Turned out okay as long as you stay about 10 feet away. It turned out to be more difficult than others I have done. But what can he say, I am his only grandpa, he has to be polite.
  3. For the faces they used those paint pens. Made it a lot easier for them. I may have to get some. I got a request for one of my 3D Christmas Nutcracker, maybe I could do a better job one the face with the pens.
  4. And the team of that makes very beautiful boxes strikes again! I like that add ons. Very well done.
  5. Well that is one that is certainly worth more than one look anyway! I've actually gone back several times to look at it.
  6. Really like that one and thanks for the pattern
  7. My little contribution for Christmas Dinner. Spent Christmas at my daughter's. It was great first time in about five years. She asked me to cut some napkin rings for the dinner. So at her request I did Mr and Mrs Kringle. Which is a Diana Thompson pattern. I cut them sanded them but they had to paint them. I am just to shakey anymore.
  8. Very well done! If I only had more hair! Guess I could put rollers on one instead of teeth!
  9. Another beautiful project! Masterful!
  10. My oh my, aren't you getting fancy, except that is the wrong saw! But looks like a great setup. I also liked @Rolf catch the little stuff, but was too lazy to build it in. So I added catchers at the source. The black thing in my nozzle is out of a delta faucet water defuser and the pinkish red on is out of the cap of a toilet bawl cleaner dispenser! Both work great and it anything is small enough to get through those, It is gone although I will be in my 5 gallon bucket my dust separator sits on. So anxious for you to use your new saw. I am still undecided about the Hawk here in Richland. I keep going back and forth on it.
  11. Welcome to the forum. That is a nice looking ventage RBI. Not sure where you will get a blade guard for that exact model. Could try EBay. Most scrollers remove the blade guard first thing or never put it on. I am assuming you are talking about the piece the sorta holds the wood down when scrolling.(?). Glad to have you here.
  12. One to really be proud of. I bet you made the box under it also. Meanwhile I am still working on the train engine! But I am getting there.
  13. My Mom was a great pie maker...I should have learned from her, and so was an Aunt I had. She use to come and care for us, a couple of times, when my Mom was in the hospital she was an amazing cook and baker, My brothers and I never had a complaint when we were told Aunt Amanda was coming to help us...The crust is the secret. My wife never spent time to master it. I wish I would have. .
  14. Oh yep,,, hick, I am aware....!
  15. You bet, That is so awesome. Great job and what a beautiful little child! I made a little train for my first grandson. But it was not a scroll saw project, and I can not find a picture. It was a very rewarding project.
  16. The more I look the more jealous I am. So glad you got it. The pie is beautiful also. I am a pie eater, would rather have pie over cake anyday.
  17. Very well done, Denny. I have only done one of his bowls, although I think I have most his bowl patterns. I wonder what happens to all these hundreds of patterns when I go to the big scrollsaw in the sky...Yes, I hope I go to the one in the sky. Seeing all the evil around me now days, I find myself thinking I may have a slim chance of getting there.
  18. Had no clue who that was, so I went to youTube and sat for an hour listening to him. I like his music. I need to get out of the basement more.
  19. Huh, we always played a very similar game called "Sorry". That is a beautiful board. I played a new game at my daughters house called "Mexican Train Dominos" It was pretty complicated lots of rules, but really fun, because I won. I didn't even know I won until everyone told me so. I never win at games. So that is my favorite game now.
  20. Yep I have always heard vinegar will work on shellac. I have never tried it.
  21. Don't really need another saw, but I am working on a picture that I am using several different sizes of blades and straight and spiral blades. I keep wishing I had a second saw to work with. But I sure do not need it, just got the "I wants" hope I have enough will power to have the "I will nots"!
  22. I'm thinking about going to look at the saw. It is now down to $350. The serial number is 17132. Can anyone tell if it is one you can top and/or bottom feed with it? I would like to get one you can change the slant on the blade with. I just think that would be a good option, because I cut a lot of both thick and thin wood. 3D cutting and 1/8" stuff. Not the deal @MarieC got, darn her. But maybe not a bad deal.
  23. Gret job!
