  1. If you are just moving the bolt to a different hole,, I don't think that will help much... I know what you mean.
  2. Very well done, Ralph. I have one similar to do. But have to wait for the piece of wood I have for it to climatize. Going to be my Nativity piece for this year.
  3. @TAIrving And I thought I was confused!
  4. Ahh thanks, Melanie, thought maybe I have had too much wine... Now when I look at the picture I can see nothing else.. that fine wine going to waste...
  5. You really did a great job on that.
  6. That is really cute.
  7. Darn i did not see what you saw until you said what you saw and then immediately I see what you saw and am wondering why I didn't see what you saw before you said what you saw. Now I see. That is a whole lot of see sawing.
  8. Some very nice work... I need to make something like the honey one,, I am a honey freak! I even put some honey on chicken breasts and Porkchops when I cook them on the bbQ! Try it you will like it.
  9. Dan, very nice and looks like fun!
  10. That is a very nice looking logo. I use the wood "Coins" that Steve Good sells, because I don't have a laser. Have you thought of doing like Steves, and make a sheet of them so you don't have to fire yo the laser each time to tag your projects? I use them on almost everything I make that I am giving away. https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/G8084A5f6bcOWgQNrBv5
  11. I have to ask ,,, what makes this guy we are all listening to an expert? Just curious. I am a Facebook skeptic.. Lots of "Experts" on Facebook... so many in fact I left... I could not keep up. But I have been wrong once, well maybe twice.. but the jury is still out on the second time
  12. That is because the blade clamps have a tendency to go flying some times when a blade brakes!
  13. Bet he will be very happy with it. Good on you for doing it.
  14. Maybe they ship them that way to help keep the upper arm stationary, during transporting? Did I use the right stationary/stationery? The wonders of the english language... and they think everyone should learn it. And/or/maybe they ship it in that position so it is not sticking up where it could get bent and/orbroken off easily.
  15. Well let's be honest cars probably get more weight as we get older. But don't do facebook, yep I am one of those.
  16. Great job Charlie. My neighbor has a winery and get things shipped to him on pallets. He had quite a stack and asked if I could use any for my woodworking.. I looked them over, all junk wood I had to turn him down. I have never see a pallet with any kind of decent wood in it. you found oak I read about other that find them with exotic woods. I get no respect...
  17. Hummm, I think I leave mine without tension most the time because when I stop the saw the first thing I do is release the tension because I am either going to change blades or move to a new hole to start sawing again. But this will make me double check because I know with no tension nothing will be hurt whether this is true or not. So why not release the tension just in case. Could that be out of alignment because the bushings are worn?? Could be another cause.
  18. Will not only did you not ruin it but you did a great job of it. I picture a little light behind it and it would look to be an aquarium , - the dirty water need to be changed and the need to feed. Great job!
  19. But he left out a magor one. Putting the tension release in the upper arm was a huge improvement, I has always curious as to when they changed the spring in the back from the flat square one to a round normal one and why.
  20. Must agree, I get a lot of peace of mind working in my shop. Well until I screw something up.. which I just did. I like your sign.
  21. That is my experience also. Cupping is a pain and none of the methods I have read or watched to un-cup wood have been successful for me. I have the best result of preventing cupping by stacking the wood with spacer strips between each piece. weight on top and let it sit for about 3 week before trying to use it. Still not 100% but less cupping. My thought is they cut the wood too green to begin with. Just my thoughts I do not know. I also have had better luck with Cherokee woods https://www.cherokeewood.com and I feel they let their wood dry longer. Again just my thoughts and experience. I have purchase wood from Ocooch many times. And will porbably continue to do so, but nothing less than 1/2" thick. Both places give great service.
  22. Very well done. I always like the lighted layered scenes. Nice work.
  23. Have you tried any of these? I have read mixed review about them but might be worth a try. https://www.artcraftersonline.com/everything-else
  24. Just thinking of Christmas's past on here and some outstanding projects that were done for Christmas. This one stands out in my mind.. 2019, I believe. But I don't remember who did it and provided the patterns to anyone interested. I have the patterns, but I never did it. Large item and no where to store it. But something that could be donated to some organization. Anyone else remember it, it created a lot of interest when it was built? Sorry I can not remember the name of the originator. I I know it had lights. Pretty amazing piece. Make a great yard display. Over 3 feet tall.
  25. Very well done. I love to make models, but no place to store them once completed. They can be challenging.
