Sorry that happen but it does. I stack cut this picture of a moose in two 1/8" thick pieces. When I completed them, I noticed I had not gotten the pattern centered on the perfectly. So I took one to my table saw and decided I would carefully cut the wood to line up with picture. The minute the saw blade touched the wood the picture blew up in so many tiny pieces, I felt I was getting rained on... Lucky I didn't have wood shrapnel wounds...
Really, Pegas hasn't been available for a real long time, kinda surprised they have refurbished ones already. I have purchased several refurbished tools, only had one that was/is no good.
You liberal commie,,,,,! just joking, just joking... My father-in-law loved veggie burgers when they came out.. fake meat, made of something vegetable. It wasn't bad..but would not replace a ribeye steak...

That is why I waited so long to come back, I knew if I did the place would fall apart! I am working on a project I started months ago, one of Jim Blume's patterns. I have always been a slow scroller,, now I am a really slow scroller, but I am persistent.. I will complete it.
The bolt that you adjust the tension no to adjust how hard it is to raise and lower the arm, has a little metal bearing in it that runs against a piece of medal... You might test the status of it and maybe that little ball bearing is worn.
I love whirligigs. Have made many myself. That is a really cool one. You may have to end making one for everyone on the team. On youtube there are lots of them.
I really envy you, Dave haveing a Grandchild around that wants to learn.. You are very lucky to have her as a student and she is very lucky to have you as a teacher... I know exactly where her being a perfectionist came from... Beautiful box she made.
