Charley, did you build/make your own laser point or is it something that came with your drill press? I want to put something like that on my little d/p too.
edit: Never mind that question. I went back and reread your post and saw what you did. I'll have to see if I can get one.
I've got a rubber block that has a flap on each end that has 3 nails under the flap to hold the paper. I load it with 3-4 strips and peel them off as they wear out. I've had it for about 40 years.
It all depends on time of day. If it's during the day, they will be vertical but in the evening, they will be laying horizontally. Oh, and the number of ice cubes is optional.
Thanks Dan. I'm surprised that the paper on your ROS doesn't clog up. I have dust collection on mine too but it still seems to build up. I'll have to do some watching to see if I'm wrong. Maybe I'm just using my paper beyond it's "sell by" date. Like I said, I'm a cheapskate.
No, it's made up of a gum type of rubber that pulls the dust out of the grit. I have seen them used on belts and they seem to work. I have a piece of Corian that was a scrap from when our home was built. I tape full sheets of paper to it for large pieces. I have been known to vacuum the dust out of the paper. I'm cheap.
I just found this on Amazon. Too good to pass up so I ordered a pair. $15.99 for 2.
