    Look up you serial number on Bushton's site. They have a pretty good listing of them in the manuals section. If you post a picture of your saw, we can determine what you should look for. The number one thing is the motor. If it has a Fasco motor, you may have problems with it down the road. The style of lower blade clamp is another thing. Also, check at the rear where the tensioning is done, look at the "V" notch in the upper arm. See if it has any undue wear. There should also be a nylon washer between the tensioning knob and the "V" wedge that goes into the notch of the upper arm. In the front of saw, it should have a tension lever and upper clamp piece. Make sure that is lubricated well. You can download a manual for it if you didn't get one. Best of luck with your new toy.

    I've got a similar drill guide by General but it is pretty sloppy. I'd go with the one Les has if accuracy is primary.

    Dick, when I took the marquetry class, one of the things that he included in the kit I bought was a small hand turned countersink. It's a very small one. Might even have been a Dremel bit. Anyway, my point is, after drilling, we used that countersink to do just what you said. It creates a divot that really help to get the blade through the hole.

    This subject brings to mind a question regarding the changing shades of padauk. I have been told that it will grow ever darker if exposed to much light. Is there any kind of UV protector that can be used on wood to stop this from happening?

    After all the talk regarding bandsaws recently, I thought I'd ask a question in a new topic. I have a Delta 28-206 band saw and I'm thinking about adding the 6" riser block to it. I found this one from Woodstock and I was wondering if anybody on SSV has ever bought/installed one of them on a Delta saw. I think the only real difference in any of the blocks offered by different suppliers is the pin/pin hole locations. I don't see that it would be too difficult to redrill the holes but I thought I'd ask here first. The price is far better than buying the Delta unit. Thanks for any and all advice.

    I will do as suggested above if you want me to email Wolfgang. He was interested in what you had to say. I just need your email address. He really has been great to me when I had my Hegner saw. I'm telling you, it's just this fiasco that we are all going through right now. None of us have ever lived through anything like it.

    Good luck with the o-rings. I tried to find a source. No problem if I wanted 1000 of them. Really hard to find them on a onsy-twosy basis.

    Very unique idea. I too look forward to seeing more pics of the finished bowl. I'd also like to hear the process to create it. So far, it's beautiful.

    All this talking about bandsaws got me to cleaning mine up and giving it a tune up. It works great now. In fact I used it yesterday and again today. Not resawing as it is under powered. I think it has a 1/2 hp motor but it might be more. I will try to use it more now. Thanks guys for pushing me forward.

    I think I like the wood for leash hangers but the metal hooks for key hangers.

    I must be missing something with top feeding. My first saw was a Dewalt and I learned to bottom feed with it. Now I have 2 Excalburs and still bottom feed. I guess I will have to force myself to top feed for a while to see if I can get used to it.

    Keep it original and have your motor repaired.

    You do know that when you get the "low toner" message you can do a reset and get more out of the cartridge before tossing it. Do a Youtube on your model printer. It's really easy.

    I watched this yesterday and even posted it on FB for all to see. I have a friend in Tennessee who was very familiar with this man. She spoke highly of him.
