I've looked at that thing more than once but I just can't see myself taking the time to set it up for every cut. I know I'm making more of it than I should but I don't have $75 laying around to buy one and find out I don't use it. I'd like to try one for a while just to see how it works out.

It's because you can't have that tab on both sides. It can only be on one side of the block. That way, when you cut it, the tab will run all the way across the block. Then, you will have to "trim" the sides to get a centered tab. It CAN'T be on both sides.

No, the tension is applied from the front on both saws. The black knob is NOT for tensioning. It's only there to adjust the arm. On the Dewalt I would set the tension full ON or at a point that allowed the blade to be installed as far as length would permit. Then actually apply the tension with the lever on the top clamp. If you think about it on the Dewalt the tension lever does the same thing as the EX/Pegas. It sets the arm height. So once it's set, leave it there and apply tension with the lever.

I was going to do as I said because I liked that way of tensioning and would not have to worry about which saw I was using and how to tension. The muscle memory would not have to learn and remember two different things to do the same job.

I don't know what the problem is here. I did something similar a long time back. I had some folks here help me with the pattern. I cut "Ray Loves Barb" on one side and "Barb Loves Ray" on the other side. It came out fine. I can understand though that the two tabs for the actual key chain to go through won't work as they aren't on opposing sides but on the two sides that are joined by the center line. One side only for the tab. Singular. Unless you want two chain holes that criss cross.

If I had bought the Pegas for my Dewalt, I was going to buy the Pegas design. I figured that the tension slider on the Dewalt was basically the same as the black knob on the EX's so I would just move it to about half way and leave it there and do all the tensioning with the Pegas white lever. I'm sure there must be folks who have done this.

Larry, all I have a is a cheap Dewalt portable table saw but it still has a riving knife. The problem is it's held in place with 2 bolts and has a selection of shims to allow you to get it perfectly lined up with the blade. I tried to use it but it was a real pain to have to unbolt it for cross cuts. Any suggestions?

My buddy had a similar thing happen to him. It was a 2x4 that kicked back and hit him square in the middle of his chest about the sternum area. He has a bruise that lasted for a long time. He learned his lesson.

I bought the first set for my EX21. The old clamps were still in good working order but I liked the simplicity of the Pegas and so I bought a set. I have NO regrets. They gave me less vibration and it's obvious that they are lighter weight. I love how they work too. So effortless and smooth. I DO feel that they are a bit pricey so I still haven't pulled the trigger on another set for my EX16 but at some point, after the world comes back to it's senses, I'll order another set. Maybe by then they will feel that the price is too high and drop it a bit. I know, wishful thinking.

Buy the program Roboform. It keeps all your logins and bookmarks. I've been using it for about 15 years and it is great. My wife has it on her computer too. Even if your computer crashes/burns or is lost in a hurricane, all you have to remember is your initial login i.d. and password. One thing to remember. Once you set it up, you never have to do it again. If I'm not mistaken, it's about $20 a year for total peace of mind.

Welcome back Barry. Glad you survived and are on the mend. I'm 77 and it scares the bejeebers out of me whenever I have any sort of pain that I don't recognize. Take it easy and keep on scrolling.

I also live in a 55+ community. We were supposed to have our annual St. Patrick's Day luncheon today but it was cancelled til further notice. Probably next month if all goes well. And, we see the EMT's in here almost daily. It's a sad state of affairs but we feel like this is our "village" and we are all on high alert to help our neighbors when needed.

I can still hear my Dad telling me how to go about using corn cobs. He'd say "it take two dark ones and one light one. You use a dark one first, then a light one to see if you need another dark one". My Dad was a hoot.

I'm not sure of your location but I've got a great Hawk saw that has all the best of things on it. I need the space in my shop so I'm selling it. $400. It's a 226VS Ultra with less than 25 hours on it. I'm in So Cal if you are interested.

Paul, it coils up nicely. I use that long hose to clean the shop floor. It will even go outside. 16 feet is long. But I would never think of cutting it.
