  1. I just rec'd. my little vacuum. It's a cute little bugger. I hope that cyclone thing works out. I can't wait to put it all together.
  2. Maybe it's because they have so many months of crappy weather so they stay indoors a lot more that us "Westerners" do.
  3. Paul, over the years, since I've been interested in woodworking, woodcarving, and scrolling, I've notice that all the schools and shows seem to be East of the Mississippi. Not sure why. Nothing ever on the Western side.
  4. Matthias Wandel has some interesting videos on his website woodgears.ca. He has a great program for estimating gear sizes etc but I recall watching him cut gears. Very interesting guy. He has made a ton of neat shop tools out of wood.
  5. I use the second DD bucket for my Dustopper/Ridgid vac system that I made for outside my shop when I set up my tablesaw.
  6. Paul, I have pretty much the same setup that you have. Fein vac & DD. I am using the bucket that came with the DD. No collapsed bucket. Maybe you better check the filter in your Fein.
  7. That's a lot of money for a FAN!
  8. After taking a shellacing in the stock market this week, I won't be buying much in the near future.
  9. If I recall this topic came up before. I had to give it a try. I downloaded the font file, extracted it to my desktop, right clicked it and clicked on install for all users. I opened Inkscape but it wasn't there. I closed Inkscape and then reopened it and it magically appeared. My story and I'm sticking to it.
  10. I'm really hoping for positive feedback. If that thing works out, I can see a lot of us here that will be buying them.
  11. I'm still very happy with my old rescued office chair. Comfortable, lightweight and small. At max height it's perfect for my Ex stand.
  12. I think something that can be weighted down in some way would be better. I've got a mental picture of what I might make if the cyclone works out. I can't wait to hear from you. What is the time frame?
  13. Then you get to be OUR guinea pig. Be sure to let us know how it works etc.
  14. That's what I saw too. I'm thinking of mounting it in a small wood box with a trap door on the bottom side to empty it. That would give it some weight. It really looks like a great design.
  15. Down 10%. Been here before. It's a paper loss unless you sell now.
  16. Yeah, but I think I can come up with a work-around. I've been sort of collecting old vacuum cleaner hoses and anything of that sort. I have one that is about an inch inside that I think will work. I'm gonna give it a try. For that price, it's worth a shot.
  17. This one on Amazon sure looks interesting. I'm very tempted to give it a try. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VS1YDJT/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza I had to do some searching around to find the dimensions but this is a little bitty thing. It appears to be made of aluminum.
  18. The one you found for $10, is it still a big one like the DD or is it downsized? I might be interested if it's smaller. Otherwise, I'll make one of my own design.
  19. We need a newer car and I've been toying with buying one of these Paul. Whattaythink?
  20. Yes, this crazy virus thing has taken us down by about 10%. I know that it will come back but still........ Between Barb and I, we got $14 a month increase in S.S. and our rent went up $35. So, as you said, you just can't win sometimes. If this keeps up, we may have to rethink living in So Cal. Arizona and Las Vegas are starting to look awfully good. We could sell our mobile home and go to either place and buy a regular house for cash and never have to pay rent again. Even with the increased property taxes, we'd still come out way ahead of the game. But at our age, moving doesn't sound really good. Time will tell.
  21. I finally heard back from the seller today. They are busy and apologized for the delay. Shipping is $50 plus the $10 asking price. The stock market has decimated our investments enough that I have to think twice about how much I want the clock. I don't need it, I really have no place for it. I was trying to rescue a piece of scroll art that the maker put his/her heart into. I'm afraid I will have to pass it up. That $60 could go a long way in purchasing supplies for my own creations. I'm going to try to find out who the maker was though, as you suggested.
  22. Closing & reopening Inkscape worked for me.
  23. I'm not sure of your need to do this but maybe try to locate someone with a Sandflee type device and sand the board down to the thickness you need. I'm not at all comfortable with trying to plane plywood. It would only take one screw-up to have a real mess on your hands. Safety-wise, I'd not recommend it. If you are near a Woodcraft store, they might be able to surface sand it for you for a nominal fee.
  24. I can't tell from the picture, what is under the vac? It looks like a trash bag but I'm not sure. Where did the pic come from? Is that yours?
