  1. I'm still very happy with my old rescued office chair. Comfortable, lightweight and small. At max height it's perfect for my Ex stand.
  2. I think something that can be weighted down in some way would be better. I've got a mental picture of what I might make if the cyclone works out. I can't wait to hear from you. What is the time frame?
  3. Then you get to be OUR guinea pig. Be sure to let us know how it works etc.
  4. That's what I saw too. I'm thinking of mounting it in a small wood box with a trap door on the bottom side to empty it. That would give it some weight. It really looks like a great design.
  5. Down 10%. Been here before. It's a paper loss unless you sell now.
  6. Yeah, but I think I can come up with a work-around. I've been sort of collecting old vacuum cleaner hoses and anything of that sort. I have one that is about an inch inside that I think will work. I'm gonna give it a try. For that price, it's worth a shot.
  7. This one on Amazon sure looks interesting. I'm very tempted to give it a try. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VS1YDJT/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza I had to do some searching around to find the dimensions but this is a little bitty thing. It appears to be made of aluminum.
  8. The one you found for $10, is it still a big one like the DD or is it downsized? I might be interested if it's smaller. Otherwise, I'll make one of my own design.
  9. We need a newer car and I've been toying with buying one of these Paul. Whattaythink?
  10. Yes, this crazy virus thing has taken us down by about 10%. I know that it will come back but still........ Between Barb and I, we got $14 a month increase in S.S. and our rent went up $35. So, as you said, you just can't win sometimes. If this keeps up, we may have to rethink living in So Cal. Arizona and Las Vegas are starting to look awfully good. We could sell our mobile home and go to either place and buy a regular house for cash and never have to pay rent again. Even with the increased property taxes, we'd still come out way ahead of the game. But at our age, moving doesn't sound really good. Time will tell.
  11. I finally heard back from the seller today. They are busy and apologized for the delay. Shipping is $50 plus the $10 asking price. The stock market has decimated our investments enough that I have to think twice about how much I want the clock. I don't need it, I really have no place for it. I was trying to rescue a piece of scroll art that the maker put his/her heart into. I'm afraid I will have to pass it up. That $60 could go a long way in purchasing supplies for my own creations. I'm going to try to find out who the maker was though, as you suggested.
  12. Closing & reopening Inkscape worked for me.
  13. I'm not sure of your need to do this but maybe try to locate someone with a Sandflee type device and sand the board down to the thickness you need. I'm not at all comfortable with trying to plane plywood. It would only take one screw-up to have a real mess on your hands. Safety-wise, I'd not recommend it. If you are near a Woodcraft store, they might be able to surface sand it for you for a nominal fee.
  14. I can't tell from the picture, what is under the vac? It looks like a trash bag but I'm not sure. Where did the pic come from? Is that yours?
  15. Yeah, it was a tank and it had almost no moving parts to wear out. Just the blade.
  16. Thanks JIm, I must have had a brain fart there for a bit. I also got the same thing in my set and now I recall greasing up the new sleeves prior to inserting them. I DID know for sure though that I didn't replace any bearings.
  17. Kevin, you are right about the new Pegas clamp upgrade. I put a set on my Ex and they used the original bearings and sleeves so I'm not sure what Bob meant on that matter. My original inquiry was regarding the availability of the bearings & sleeves through Pegas as replacement parts for the original Excalibur saws.
  18. Is it a "vibrating transformer" saw? I had a very small one when I was about 12 or 13. I think I trades a Benjamin single shot pump pellet pistol for it. It had a big old transformer inside of it. Weighed a ton. You'd plug it in, turn it on and it would emit a hum and the blade would go up and down. Didn't work worth a darn.
  19. Sorry for your loss. My Mom had a massive stroke in 2003 at age 81. She spend almost 2 years in a nursing home. Not how I want to end up for sure.
  20. Probably have to go through Bob at this point.
  21. I have been in an ongoing conversation with Bob Duncan from Pegas/Grobet regarding availability of bearings/sleeves and other miscellaneous parts for the older Excalibur saws. Pegas will supply the individual parts without needing to buy whole assemblies. Unfortunately, they will NOT service the bearings/sleeves for the original blade clamps as they are different than what they use in their clamps. But if you upgrade or have upgraded to their clamps you are good to go on all bearings/sleeves. No need to purchase parts that you don't need as has been the case up til now.
  22. You mentioned wine. We like wine and have found, for us at least, price doesn't determine what we like. So I guess that can relate to many things.
  23. My DD/Fein vac combo seems to work great. I use it for my scroll saw and general shop cleanup. The 16 foot hose makes that possible in my small shop.
  24. The older I got, the smarter my parents were. I miss them and their wisdom dearly.
  25. He was right.
