  1. My fault Paul. I took this topic totally off course. MY BAD! I keep forgetting that it's not a conversation but a thread. Maybe when Don gets something more to show, he can start a new topic.
  2. Thanks Don. I have that same book in my "cart" but haven't ordered it yet. I will now so I can follow along. I like your nativity too. I saw that pattern and have it "saved".
  3. It looks like they are just using their blower system inverted.
  4. I never knew they had one. It must be fairly new.
  5. Actually what happened is, I was surfing C/L the other day and the plunge attachment popped up. Seeing that it was made out of metal I thought I'd buy it and sell the plastic one I have. Well, that led to my finding out it wouldn't fit anything except the 9000 Advantage rotary cutter. So, that got my curiosity up as I had never seen one before and I found that it could also be used like a Foredom tool. So, I went on the hunt for a used one. I found the one that I ended up buying on eBay for $10. By the time I left eBay there was an email in my inbox telling me that it had just been reduced to $7 plus $10 shipping. How could I pass that up? So, I committed to it and also let the seller of the plunge attachment know that I would buy it. So, then, I started reading and looking for anything else that might fit it. That's when I found out that it had been discontinued a few years back and there is virtually nothing available for it. So, now I have a tool that is supposed to work, (time will tell) and a router attachment that may or may not fit but neither of them are in hand yet. Anyway, I'll find out more once I get them. I did some looking and reading and it looks like the depth gage attachment for the Harbor Freight hole cutter might fit this thing. I emailed them to see about buying parts. I'll hot-foot it over to their store and check out their tool to see if it looks like it's a winner or not. In the end, I may end up with something that I can use for something. God knows! Stay tuned.
  6. Norm, try the rubber band trick on that knob to keep it from turning.
  7. I also bought the plunge router attachment for my regular Dremel. The main difference I see is plastic opposed to metal. The metal one won't fit the standard Dremel.
  8. I have both Gimp and Inkscape. And they both frustrate the heck out of me. Right now I'm trying CorelDraw with their free 15 day trial. It is an awesome program.
  9. I'm still not understanding what you were asking. What in particular are you referring to? Does he have a tutorial on dvd? I get his email every day but I'm not sure what you are talking about. edit: I just went to his blog site. The only thing I see there is a data dvd on pattern making for $10. It is to learn the ins and outs of Inkscape and pattern making. The Inkscape program is free but the idea of using it to make patterns, if that is what you want to do, is probably worth the $10. Steve makes great tutorials on many subjects. Most of them are available on Youtube.
  10. You guys are talking about the regular Dremel tools. This one is the forerunner of the Rotozip rotary tool. There were not many accessories made for it. And most everything is no longer available. The tool was discontinued some years ago. I tried ePartsreplacement but they have nothing either. I may have just blown a few bucks. I guess I should have researched it first. Oh well, if anything good comes out of it, I'll let you know.
  11. Thanks Jim. I was having trouble visualizing what you described. Now it all makes sense. Great idea and it takes up no more space than before.
  12. I was wondering about something. Are the ends bending or are they being "twisted" as the clamp screws are being tightened? Could it be that the clamp screws are not flat and parallel to the faces of the anvil screws? If I were you, I'd get on the phone with Pegas and have a talk. You might have a defective set of clamp screws or clamps. Something doesn't make sense.
  13. I'll shoot you a pic later. I'm away from my computer and life is too short to do it on my phone.
  14. There is one of those near me with 3 cheapo tools attached. The guy wants $500 for it. It's been on C/L for over a year.
  15. I watched one of his latest videos on CorelDraw. Very well done. Of course, I can't afford that program but just being able to try the 15 day trial was a great experience.
  16. Welcome to the Village. I hope you stick around. But, to answer your question, we will need a bit more information. Steve does a lot of instructional videos.
  17. Paul, there is no "correct" amount. Back off both of the clamp screws, stick a thick washer in the slot and tighten the anvil screw up to it until you can just slip the washer back out. Lock the anvil screw down. Do this for both top and bottom clamps. Now, your blades will be in perfect alignment top to bottom. The important thing is that the anvil screws protrude from the clamp body and the same amount top and bottom. Clear as mud?
  18. Jim, nobody is going to believe your story without pictures. I have no imagination. Gotta have pictures.
  19. I just bought a used Dremel 9000 Advantage on eBay for $7 plus $10 shipping. I also bought a new in box plunge router attachment for the same tool on C/L for $10. I had never seen/heard of this tool before but just happened upon it. Do any of you folks have one or are you familiar with it? It appears to be a bit more powerful than the standard Dremel tool. I hope to be able to use the flex shaft with it. I haven't found any info on compatibility of the accessories between the two tools. Can anybody give me any info? Thanks in advance for anything offered.
  20. Would your mind sharing your source and cost? By the way, I see we share the same birthday. I'm just a bit older. 1943.
  21. Thanks, I look forward to it.
  22. That would be great. Please keep me updated and if you have a book, I'd like to to get the same book so we would all be on the same page. As the saying goes.
  23. The pyrography tool that I just bought is a Colwell. They sell them.
  24. Thanks. I've been there many times. Wonderful store. I'll give them a call.
