  1. He is retired but he is completely in charge of everything in his home. His wife is disabled so he is doing it all. I have a ton of respect for him.
  2. It amazes me how Steve can come up with a new pattern every day. And make them too.
  3. I've seen that before and I marvel at it every time I see it and watch it. Amazing.
  4. Very nice job of cutting and the choice of wood and finish are great.
  5. I ended up not doing anything. I cut the boards to the length I needed, stacked in two stacks of 3 and 4. Then I taped them tightly together and clamped them to my workbench for overnight. Once, I did my cutting they pretty much flattened out and by the time I got to gluing them together and clamping, they are quite flat. I should not have been worried knowing how they would be cut and glued. Experience,,,I need more experience.
  6. Check the fuse first. Make sure you have power to the saw and getting past the fuse. Try turning the motor by inserting a screwdriver into the end of the motor and turning it. With the power off of course.
  7. Happy birthday and a Happy New Year to you.
  8. Your pictures didn't make it. Try them again.
  9. Congrats on your successful surgery. I hope you can get back to scrolling soon and your pain days are behind you.
  10. And, I'll bet you can put it up on C/L and get your original investment out of it.
  11. Kevin, I purchased a combo belt/oscillating spindle sander from H/D a couple of years back. I can't say enough good about it. I love it. And, they had them on a sale at the time so I coupled it along with a Weber gas bbq and put the whole thing on a 24 month "same as cash" plan. It's heavy and doesn't have any tendency to move around when using it. It has a good dust collection port on the back side that also works great. I see used ones occasionally on C/L.
  12. We need to hear from everyone who has purchased any of the "new breed" of Excalibur saws. Lots of folks waiting to hear whether they are any good or not.
  13. My buddy used to restore slot machines back before digital photography. He used to take 35mm pics and pay for the developing just so he would have a pictorial record of how everything went back together. That philosophy has never failed him and now he is a multi-millionaire.
  14. I bought one of the Wen a while back and reported it here. So far, I like it. The flex cable attachment works great and that in itself made the whole thing worth buying. Now, knowing that the plunge attachment will work with it, I might just buy one. Thanks for the report.
  15. I saw that and that's what brought this question to mind. I was just wondering about CA glues and the activator/accelerators. I think I like the idea of buying in small bottles and keeping the nozzles open by rapping the bottles on the bench. Not sure I really need the accelerator at this point. I just want a glue that sets fast. The Gorilla gel doesn't.
  16. They were bushings the last time I looked at mine when all apart.
  17. Wow! What you are describing is what I have going on in my right foot. I have what they call Morten's neuroma and it affects the two toes next to my big toe. When I stand for too long, those two goes go numb but at the same time, it feels like they are on fire. I have to sit down, take my shoe off and massage my foot in the area just behind those two toes. I have put off having the surgery because the podiatrist said I'd be laid up for two months and no driving. That won't work. I'd go nuts just sitting. Anybody else have that?
  18. That's great Ike. It seems like the big C is what gets to too many people. We can put up with anything else.
  19. What surprises me about the Hegner and its bushed arms is that they didn't drill any holes into the arm/bushing assemblies so that you could actually put a couple of drops of oil down in the hole. I am not a fan of oiling along the side of the arms and hoping the oil gets to where it's needed. Whatever situation you have with your saw or any equipment, the mfgr. probably hopes it will wear out so you have to replace it with a new one. Not like the old days for sure.
  20. Now that is a suggestion I've not heard before. I'll give that a try. All you cold weather folks don't have to do that do you?
  21. That's what I meant. As soon as I hit the submit button I knew that I had worded it wrong.
  22. Yeah, like now I'm a videographer? NO thanks.
  23. Is it a two-part adhesive? I have never used the activator so I'm interested in that too.
  24. Where do you purchase it? I've looked around here at H/D and Lowes as well as Michael's and Hobby Lobby. There are so many to choose from that is why I posed this question.
