Every power tool I have ever bought needed something either tightened, loosened or just plane adjusted. When you think of what these tools must go through in their journey from China/Taiwan to here in the U.S. I'm surprised that more "fixing" isn't needed. They are getting much better though. Too many people expect a tool to be ready to use right out of the box but that is really expecting way too much.

here ya go. But as Les said, there are a ton of great videos on youtube by Steve. And yes, Inkscape is a free program. So is Gimp. They both do many of the same things but differently.

Les, did you ever see the Steve Good video on how to use Inkscape and turn the lines red? It's not all that hard to do. Even I have done it and I have been fighting to learn Inkscape for a year now. If you are interested, I'll find the link to the video.

Are you using a reverse blade? Doesn't sound like if you are getting fuzzies. I love Pegas blades.

Ok, sounds like you have it covered. Best of luck with your new toy. I bought mine used and tuned it all up. I love it but I also found an EX21 used and I love it more.

Some or all of your vibration may go away with a permanent mount. I see you have it just resting on a 2x4 in the rear. My Dewalt is pretty smooth throughout the range but will pick up som vibration at top speed. All saws will have a sweet spot or two. I also see that you have one of those tri-sided tool mounts. How do you like it? That may also bring out some vibration. There are a couple of them for sale near me on C/L. From $125 up to $500 and all come with tools mounted on them. I don't have space or I might have been interested. If you are interested, I have some plans for a nice sit-down type stand that I built for my Dewalt.

I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on a new router so I went and did a bunch of reading on them. I found a like new Dewalt 610 on eBay. I think I paid $60 for it. Then I got to thinking about having a plunge router. I found that I could buy just the plunge attachment for it. I found a used one, again like new, on Amazon if I recall, and gave $85 for it. So for $145 dollars I have a great setup. I made a large faceplate for it and use it in my B&D workmate. I love it.

I have the same problem Tom. I'm very critical of my work and my wife tells me that "good" is "good enough". But, I don't see it that way. If I'm going to sign my work, I want it to be as near perfect as I can get it. By the way, you did a fine job on cutting this out.

Well, it's all conjecture at this point. If I mention another saw to my wife, she may leave me. But, I check everyday on C/L.

Yes, it is Les. I have followed all these type threads for the last couple of years. I figured after I got my EX that it would be my last saw for a good while but after reading all the posts about the Hawks and looking at all the videos on the Bushton site I am actively watching for a deal on a good used Hawk. I'm not sure which model yet but it will probably come down to which one comes up first at the right price. I haven't seen any used BM26's at all or G4's for that matter. Lot's of older Hawks but I'm holding out for the best of the best with the variable speed control. I really want to try one.
