  1. I was going to ask the same question Les. I'd like to see the piston/chamber.
  2. I was all set to buy a bunch of the Olson Mach 3 blades until Iggy, who probably cuts more than any of us, chose to change over from the Olson blades to the Pegas MG after giving them a test run. So, I tried them and I like them too.
  3. I completely agree with you Stoney. I had a used Hegner saw and I realized what it's negative aspects were. My first complaint is the outrageous cost of parts. The reason I no longer have the saw is the speed problem that I encountered with it. And to fix it would have been ridiculous. So, I sold it. I have no personal experience with it but from what I have read and heard, the PS Woods saw is very much like the Hegner, American made and very reasonable in price. Customer support is great also. Sure, you might have to move a belt to change speed but how often does a scroller have to do that? If a used one ever comes on the market near me, I'm going to buy it and give it a test ride. If I don't like it, I'll sell it.
  4. I drank some "Old Crow" one time. Does that count?
  5. Great idea Larry. Thanks.
  6. I went looking for a picture of this piece but had no luck. Anybody have a picture? I love trains. I think I found it. Is it the train depot clock? I love it. Gotta put that on my list.
  7. Bill, I think that is the same company. After seeing the quality that they put into the replacement blade clamps for the EX and the Dewalt/Jet/Seyco saws, I would expect the same degree of quality in their saws also. Their blades are among the best if not the best. With that in mind, I would hope they would demand that whoever is making their saws put the best quality control into the production.
  8. Thanks everybody, That's the info I needed. I have done some searching and I think I can come up with something. I may just try signing with my soldering iron. It's really good one with adjustable heat.
  9. That's what I'm talking about. Where'd ya get it?
  10. My point exactly. Thanks Bill.
  11. The one thing that comes to mind with the Pegas is, did they demand better product quality? The others coming out of China may or may not be very good. Nobody knows yet but with Pegas, I would think that they would demand high quality before they put their name on them. I can't imagine them accepting a "cheaply made knock-off".
  12. Thanks Don, I take it you use the Sharpee prior to finishing?
  13. I would like to put some sort of a signature on the things I'm making and I was wondering if any of you are doing it and how you are going about it. I don't have a wood burner but I have a pretty good soldering iron that I might be able to use. I also have seen somewhere that you can order a "branding iron" type of device. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I hope I worded this correctly.
  14. Ah, the one I have doesn't say that. I'll have to make a stop at Hobby Lobby.
  15. Wow! Thanks for posting this Paul. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Poetry in motion for sure.
  16. Are we talking about Elmer's washable glue stick like for school stuff or is there another kind. I have that one in my desk drawer.
  17. Is there a brand name on them Heppnerguy?
  18. Where are you located? That may have a lot to do with what you have available also. Keep your eye on Craigslist in your area. Lots of used saws near what I live but I'm in a heavily populated area.
  19. Hey Kevin, I just came across a website that may interst you if you are really going to get into the world of CNC. I have been mildly interested in Arduino microcomputing and just came across a site called "Tinkercad". There is a short video that sort of explains what it's all about. I'm going to be checking it out as well as the 30 day online course on Arduino. Here is the link: https://www.tinkercad.com/
  20. I was trying to imagine the grinding tools that would be needed to create that tiny brad point drill bit. And how many of them would you have to sell to ever recoup your investment?
  21. I would really love to try one of those saws. I will have to see if there is anyone near me that has one.
  22. I have 2 used saws. One the Dewalt is a great saw once I tuned it up. The other is the EX21 that I fell into on a deal. It's a 2010 model and I love it very much. Like others have said the table is a bit on the small side but so far, I haven't had a problem with that. If you are really afraid of the Chinese EX's I'd spend a bit more and buy the Seyco. Same type mechanism. Very smooth operation.
  23. I'd be interested in knowing what you lubed on your EX. Can you give us some details?
  24. I always have to wonder about people who put things up for sale and don't even take the time to brush the dust off. It makes me wonder how well the seller even took care of the saw or anything else for that matter. It might be a good deal but I bought my Hegner that was just like this one for $300 and it came with the light and foot switch. If it's close by you, go take a look and make an offer. Who knows. Just take a really good look at the "soft" start and speed control on it. The one I bought had a problem with the speed not finding it's setting. I sold it because of that. Good luck with whatever you do.
