I just ran across this setup on Amazon and think I'll buy it. It's for the Multi-max and other sanders of the same design. It has sanding pads that are smaller in size and looks like they'd fit in smaller places. And lots of paper to go with. Not a bad price for all that's included. I suppose that it can be anything you want it to be Bob. But, in my case, the triangular tip on this sander gets in many small places. That other detail sander that is shown would be nice to have but I think it might be very expensive. I've got an old Phillips cordless toothbrush that I have thinking about making into a small detail sander. There is a video on youtube on how to do about it. Not very powerful but it might be just right for sanding very delicate things.

I have made some pretty intricate things and hate sanding so I use the Dremel MultiMax to get in the hard to reach places. I also use a lot of my wife's nail file emery boards. The Dremel tool also so a great job of cutting in places where a saw won't work. I bought the one I have when we first moved into our mobile home and there was no medicine cabinet. So we bought a cheap one and I was able to inset it into the side of the cabinet that is in the bathroom. With that fine vibratory saw blade, I was able to lay out a line and "jab" the saw blade in and then just follow the line the whole rectangular perimeter of the box. It worked great and left a very nice edge that required no sanding or clean up. J T, at one time I had the Fein multi tool too. It was very expensive in it's day.

Just make sure the Dremel accessories are compatible. H/F has a habit of discontinuing pieces and parts.

The only thing I care to do with my laser is some sort of logo/signature for signing my work. But so far I haven't come up with anything unique.

How about a piece of high density foam rubber instead of a bellows that really just serves as a bumper?

You seem to always be in the right place at the right time. I've never been given anything of any value. Most everything that I get for free is junk or way beyond repair. That 14 in saw would have been neat though. They have become valuable just because of their size. There is a guy down in the San Diego area that has had one for sale in mint condition for over 3 years. He's asking $925 and won't budge.

Buy a new one. I guarantee 6 great used ones will pop up across the road from you. Lol

I'd still have problems spending that much when there are so many good used Hegs out there for less than half.

I use my Dremel multi tool on many of my projects. I found a place on Amazon to buy large quantities of the paper in grits that I use. It works great and has speed control.

Order the special tool or use a hair dryer to heat the pieces so they are soft enough to push together. They are meant to be tight so the tool is the best way. -
My wife liked it so much that she displays it in a little stand in our kitchen.

Thanks to all. You have backed up what I was already thinking. I have a good coat of wax on all the bare metal surfaces. My Dewalt table saw has a painted/powder coated top so no problem there. My bandsaw will be covered top to bottom but still totally waxed. I just bought a folding/rollable stand for my Dewalt miter saw and it will have a good cover. For now, that's all that will be outside. I'm going to have a vinyl fence erected for privacy. I will end up with more than double the space I have in my shop. I'm also thinking of selling my Ex 16 and keep only the Ex 21 and the Hegner Multimax 18. I will have room then to put my drill press down onto its own stand and get it off my workbench. All-in-all, more space.

Can't do that. 6 inch drop from shop to driveway. It would require a long ramp. Thieves not a problem.

I live in a mobil home about a mile in from the ocean. I have a very small shop with too much equipment. So I'm going to move some of the big stuff out onto my driveway. So I want to protect it all from the elements. It will all be under cover but the air is still damp at times. I'm going to go to one of the canvas shops nearby and have some baggy covers made with zippers. What material should I get? Canvas thats breathable or what? Any advice would be appreciated.

Melanie,so sorry to hear the terrible.news. Sure hope he heals well and.no long-term damage. Being laid up is not fun. I threw my back out 3 weeks ago and couldn't do anything but sit or lay. Keep us updated as things move along. -
