  1. Bah! Humbug!
  2. Your "ex"? Wife?
  3. We each, in our own way, need to expose people to our hobby. Any way we can. I think many folks would get interested if they just knew that anybody can do it with a bit of practice. People are always amazed at what I make and I always try to explain how it's done. I wish our park had a facility that could be used as a hobby shop. I think if the interest increases, the vendors will see the potential and start finding ways to put on shows. I know there are many woodcarving shows. Why not scrolling? Why not a combination of the two? Or other hobbies? Clubs? Why not get something going? Ok, venting over.
  4. Sign & date it. Look back at it next year.
  5. Home Depot has something called project boards that are laminated with hardwood outsides. I think they are 10x12 or so.
  6. That's awesome Dave. You really have inlay mastered. I'm in awe of your work. Beautiful!
  7. Great stuff. I really like the butterfly. Glad to hear you're back at it. Slow and easy wins the race.
  8. Beautifully done Denny. It will be appreciated, I'm sure.
  9. Very nicely done. I like it.
  10. Welcome back Ron. I wondered where you've been. I hope all is good. I know about time flying. 80 in April.
  11. Maybe a "sticky header" on the Introduction page by Travis would help.
  12. My biggest problem. I am my worst enemy. I HATE the finishing process due to my ignorance.
  13. I think part of the problem is the cost of the venues. The show promoters got greedy too. And then along came Amazon. I've heard about a few get togethers out in farmer's fields. They would be fun.
  14. Wow! I had no idea you were going through that. I hope it continues to go well. At our advanced ages, surgery is no walk in the park. I'm toying with the idea of knee surgery for an old motorcycle injury about 60 years ago. I was told it would give me problems later in life and sure enough, it is. Should be just arthroscopic though. Follow doctors orders and do your rehab as they tell you to. You'll be up and around in no time. Prayers for you though.
  15. None in So Cal that I'm aware of. Sad!
  16. Great job Charley. I guess I'll have to hunt up the movie. We went and saw it when it was in the theater. Not since.
  17. Beautiful. Great job & well done.
  18. Steve Good posted a link today to Stencilfy. It is an App that will take a regular font and turn it into a scrollable font with bridges where needed. I know this subject had just recently come up by one of our member so I thought this would be of help. I went to the App site and bookmarked it on my Roboform Bookmark list. Clink on this link to to take you to the App. Thanks to Steve Good! https://blogspot.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=fa6b059408ca051b3a85dce6b&id=41aee3cf07&e=e151848253
  19. I placed an order for a gross of blades Friday 12/2. Received them today 12/4. Tennessee to So Cal. Darned quick. And, because me last order with Denny was a set of Pegas clamps, I rec'd 6 dozen blades for free. Best service ever. Thanks Denny & crew.
  20. I used the ROS paper and it works fine.
  21. Agree 100%.
  22. Beautiful box. Great job.
  23. I had mine out twice. Once when I was four and then again at 16. They did a lousy job the first time.
  24. Thanks for your input. But, I don't make toys. I'm doing the earrings mostly just to satisfy my curiosity and the "reindeer king" here on the Village is @CharleyL . He uses hard maple for it's durability so I'm following his advice. I must say, I'm a little leery of cutting it. I have worked a bit with hickory and got through it ok. We will see. Right now I'm trying to wrap my head around the mechanical parts and how to go about installing them.
