  1. Mostly cut on scrollsaw; but I used the table saw and the chop/cut-off saw also. It was made from salvage weathered wood for the vintage look. A lot of try-fail-re-try- fail- try again was involved to get it decent! My daughter-in-law wants it as a Christmas present for one of her friends. They like antiques and very vintage decor! The sides had to be cut from 2 different directions. The wheel is made in pieces. They are laid out on a 90 degree from each other, glued and nailed together, then the circle is laid out and cut with the scrollsaw. Then I fix "pilot arrors" with the belt sander. The unit was then lightly torched foran aging effect!
  2. The usual!----A.K. BEING AMAZING KEVIN!

rjR agrees totally with Don R.
  4. As the above 2 posts confirm; different strokes for different folks! You did nice work and the saw sounds interesting too. I now have a DeWalt 788; but wore out a Dremel, when that was my budget limit! The last 2 speed D was a very good saw. The previous D had been the one with the tin plate table and I had bought it used and still had 20+ years of use from it.
  5. Gorgeous work and an interesting side note too!
  6. The addiction is a communicable disease and also terminal! It only shortens life expectancy around crabby "others"! They do not understand that it is our therapy! Well come aboard and enjoy the ride!! Sometimes there is even "good" advice here! Do not try to cut at the speed of A.K. --I thnk he is possessed

  25. Well I promised the picture of the finished article! Still wet, spray poly. If someone wants; my "sort -of a pattern" is available. It has 24 pieces of wood and about 40 screws! Might be more. Made from generic Lowe's pine/??. Even used the small turning lathe to make the handle. Eyes are seperate wood pieces too.
