  1. Fans of country music --Check this link out http://www.oldwesttrio.com/index.php We happened into a concert! Then last night--I happened into a "campfire-sing:. WOW!Concert was great and CFS was even better!

  2. A.K. being A.K. AGAIN! I got a headache looking at it! I am sure that I could screw that up way beyond repair!
  3. Being a big fan of dark walnut-- is just an additional reason for me to think this is a terrific project! You will like Dick-- I have met him and am looking forward to future meetings too!
  4. Well A.K. sort of sums up our insanity! Almost all of us certifiable-- but we have a hell of a good time! Make things that please you! Just because ZYX says it should be a certain way does not mean it has to be! Do it the way it works for you! A lot of good ideas and great help both are around here! No dumb questions; although sometimes there are dumb answers! Pattern help and patterns are "JUST ASK" someone here will have that answer! Some of us dabble in other areas too! I have been known to get greasy hands --- someday -- will try to use those brushy things and canvas. So we do not limit to just crooked lines! We do like to see work so we can "BORROW" ideas and projects. Dick heppnerguy gives good advice and makes very neat things too! Some of us are even getting to actually meet each other! If possible. Enjoy and make things YOU WANT TO MAKE!
  5. A.K. Being A. K. and making the rest of us more humble AGAIN!
  6. When I bought my first scrollsaw- in 1953 the owners manual pattern book that came with it said use beeswax candle stubs--I have and did for decades! For the last few years I also use a clear packing tape over the wood--put the pattern on it with permanent marker and proceed form there. I learned this trick from Frank who is --- http://www.pozsgaidesigns.com/contact.htm--- He had nothing to gain and more to loose by telling me; as I buy blades from him! The trick works well! As a side benefit of it a light miss of the line --lifts right off with the tape! Does not show! To sum up-- clear tape or old candle stubs both work well. I even use the candle stubs across the saw tables and the slide cut for the gauge on the other equipment! I even buy new candles (white) when I am out of ends.
  7. #1. Nice work #2 Leave it to A.K. to come up with an idea! #3. Picture of the shirt when you have it finished it Please. #4. Careful do NOT accidentally polyurethane it! Makes them stiff and uncomfortable.
  8. Your lettering looks as good as A.K.'s and that is extremely well done! Very neat on both projects!
  9. Just Kevin being Kevin again! I like your name signs-- better cutting than mine by a ways! Well-- I was working on the loader-- today AGAIN! Nearly complete--was running, tracks are back on-- hydraulics getting the air out! and a few other little things. Pictures tomorrow!

Nice work! Hope you have places for them, and some of the places contributed to shop costs!
  11. As spendy as they are; they would be limited to special projects only! Yes, very nice labels!
  12. I had a couple of Dremel saws! The 2 speed was actually a good saw. The first D I had was the one with thee 2-3/4 blades and a sheet metal table! Made a lot of things with it too> I had bought it used and still had 20+years of moderate use from it. Sure beat "no-saw"
  13. Just being A.K.-- may have to "BORROW" some of those ideas!
  14. Both projects are nice work! Either is beyond my patience or skill levels!
  15. Doing it again! I wish I could cut letters as straight as you do!
  16. A.K. being A.K. AGAIN! I agree with "new-guy" I like the 1st one the best!
  17. I would be proud if my work turned out that well! NICE!
  18. We have come to expect this quality of work from you! You did NOT disappoint us. Very nice design, work, and finishing too!
  19. Hi--HI! Dick summed t up. Also remember that the saw is for fun! Do what you want to suit you! Please the person in the mirror! Make your "nest" a comfortable place with a chair--cushion-- light and (if inclined) loud music! If you want a certain pattern-- someone here will either know where to find it, have one, or MAKE one for you. All you have to do is ask.
  20. Well designed and made! Beautiful work.
  21. We are all here for the SAWDUST therapy! Always like to see projects; so we can "borrow/STEAL" the ideas. I still think I have the claim for oldest working scroll saw! A 1952 Craftsman that I bought new in 1953; I remember waiting for it to come from the Sears Catalog. We had just barely gotten REA on the farm. That was fall 1953-- and I ordered the saw from my wild fruit picking money.
  22. Makes me fell better about my "mess". I have never seen a shop that actually gets worked in that stays "CLEAN" over about 5 minutes of work time! I also see custom modifications of equipment! I also make the tools over a little sometimes! Is there an actual dust system that really works? We have a wall mounted cyclone and a ceiling hung "electro-static " unit and I run several shop-vacs when cutting/sanding and still get a residue of dust around.
  23. A.K. being A.K. ! Very nice work; I have to say I look hard for errors in your letters and find only very unnoticeable ones! the enlarging computer screen is the only reason I can find any! Even with that I have to look hard. I am keeping score, but will keep it secrete.
  24. NICE!
