  1. I am from this area before I was relocated to North Carolina. I have family members that do the revel and have made good money at it - really depends on the weather sense it is outside all week.
  2. I started with Olson blades and have never changed -FD blades have to be ordered on line sense no one carries them here and its real nice to just run around the corner sand grab a pack of blades if i run out
  3. I wrap all my hardwoods with clear packing tape. I'm cutting 1" thick stock and have no burning of the wood.
  4. I sign all my work with "Handmade by my name & the month & year"
  5. Search the web for the handsome woodsman. They are out in the great northwest
  6. Turned out very nice
  7. I think you can order the pattern through the Wooden Teddy Bear
  8. Butterfly's were cut from the same piece of walnut
  9. Believe it of not but I can do more than intarsia. The is a butterfly Fretwork Cross I completed this week for my wife & daughter. 1/4 walnut Design was from Timber Lace Company and designed by Julia Meader
  10. I use purple heart all the time in intarsia - works great for added color. But like Dan said it is a dense hardwood that can be difficult to work
  11. All i use are Olson plain blades. My Dewalt saw will not take pin blades. My porter cable will take both. You have a larger choice when it comes to plain blades. I know there is already been several posts on what blades everyone uses & why. I cut 1" hardwoods from intarsia and dont have a problem with the right blade it cuts like butter. Brian
  12. Started scrolling about 3 1/2 years ago and changed over to intarsia mostly about 2 1/2 years ago. Just don't like feeding the blade through all those holes in Fretwork.
  13. congrats on both the speaking & the saw
  14. My saw is attached to my workbench that I built, I was given an older high bar stool that i refinished and use it. Saw is a little below my chest when sitting Brian
  15. I use solely Olson blades mainly #2 skip reverse, #5 & #7 both skip reverse
  16. Hello Rick, Welcome to the Forum, look forward to seeing some of your intarsia. I'm Brian out of Winston Salem.
  17. like the frame you added & the moon. Mine was just freestanding
  18. My miter saw is a Delta and I have had it over 15years and it still as good as it was when i bought it. never had any problems.
  19. very nice cutting
  20. both turned out very nice but really like the Duck heads
  21. I do the same as Danny with no problems on soft woods, hardwoods that burn easy I wrap with clean tape than apply the pattern over the tape but no issues. I think you either waited to long before sticking the pattern or did not use enough glue brian

Turned out very nice - like the colors
  23. Dick, Don't you just love it when you quote a price to someone and the next thing they say is ok and how quick can i get it. I have several people doing that to me every year. I just finished an item for a couple and when the picked it up they ordered 4 more items and told me they don't care about the cost, just to let them know when they are done.
  24. I actually do some fret work as well but jusy don't like too. This is Steve Goods Story Cross made out of walnut & cherry for a client.
  25. very nice piece
