  2. Had a great show and sold everything I took expect for 4 pieces. I also took The Knock (seen in the intarsia section) it was the talk of the show. I sold 26 pieces of intarsia.
  3. Just thought I would let everyone know Klinspor is having their BIG woodworking show in Hickory this coming Friday & Saturday. The largest woodworkers show of its Kind in NC. It is at the convention center. If you are in the area, swing by and say hello. I will be there in the Carolina Scollers booth both days. Hope to sell some intarsia as well. A freind of mine & I will be doing a intarsia demo on Friday around 1 pm. If you are there, I posted earlier today my latest religious piece and it will be on display this weekend at the show (Not for sale). See you there Brian

  7. I always give credit to the designers on the pieces I do. I'm one of those folks that can't design patterns. I don't like sharing either. I have spent a good bit of money gathering my patterns and i will tell anyone where to find the pattern.
  8. very nice work
  9. No how everything is held together there is a 2 piece back made from 1/4 ply. There are 2 hangers on the back one behind the cowboy & one behind the Indian. The rope was added to hide some raising shims across the bottom. I is going on display in a private collection here in NC. The owner of the piece is picking it up this weekend.
  10. I was able to FINALLY finish the large piece I have been working on for a client. The Cowboy & The Trail Begins both designs are by JGR but I motified them to combine them into 1 piece. the are right at 350 pieces give or take. it measures 5'6" long and at its tallest piont (tips of the feathers) 34". Woods used are: Sapale, aromatic cedar, spanish cedar, walnut, cherry, maple, mahogney, poplar, Peruvin Walnut, Peru Amarillo, Purpleheart and I'm sure there are a few others but can't remember. Thanks for the comments in advance.

  17. I have never had to - I covered the rocker switch area with a plastic snack bag and control the saw with a foot switch.
  18. I recieved this pattern right as it came out. It is what i consider a normal size piece and would price it at about $3 per piece of wood in it. Small intarsia - I price at $25-$50 depending on the cmplexity of the piece Normal or Average size pieces - I price at $3 per piece of wood Large pieces depending on the compexity & size of the idividual pieces of wood - $4-$5 per piece Extra large pieces - are Time ($10 an hour) plus material. Commissioned pieces are at mimumin $5 per piece of wood. I pretty much only do intarsia. The commissioned piece I'm doing right now would fall into the extra large range but it is also a commissioned piece so I went with my commision pricing- 360 pieces - $1800- and the gentleman only asked how soon can he get it.
  19. turned out nice
  20. turned out nice, i have used stain glass patterns several times for intarsia
  21. I guess we are just lucky here in NC . I live in Winston Salem and Klingspor is less than 5 minutes from the house, Wall Lumber is 45 minutes north, NC Hardwood is about 45 minutes east, plus 2 WoodCrafts within an 1 1/2 hours and now another place in Conover. How do I choose where to go. Those near Hickory make sure you plan on going to Klingspor's show at the convention center in October. It would be good to talk to you folks instead of just typing. I will be there with the Carolina Scollers at the booth & that Friday myself & another member will be giving a formal demo on Intarsia. Date of the show has not been set yet but should be set very soon and i will let everyone know.
